An ongoing problem as I tend to get a bit anal about exactly how much reverb I should be using at different points in a song.

prs 5 way
Hi, I had a custom guitar made about 4 years ago and had the maker put two seymour duncan pickups in, i also asked him to put a fishman acoustic pickup in. My problem now is that the quot;TB4quot; pickup at the bridge broke a few weeks ago and when i took it to be replaced i asked the guy to strip out the acoustic pickup (which he did) and asked him if he could replace the acoustic volume control with a push pull pot to change from humbucker to single coil. He said I couldn’t do this because of the selector switch (5 way prs rotary pot) I just wondered if anyone here had any ideas of how to get around this problem? (P.S. the the way it’s wired now has dropped the volume of the split signal (single coil) to almost unusable. That is the third time it has been in the shop so I don’t want to spend any more money on him looking at it, so I was just going to have a go myself. Thanks for any help. Alfie. (sorry it's a bit long winded)

Some Help with Amp modding,please.
ok, it's not really modding but a slight alteration. I wanna change my Spider II 30W 1x12 Combo into a closed back just to give it a tighter sound and so on. The woodwork itself isn't a problem but would it even be worth the effort? The speaker is a celestion G12E-50(custom design for line 6 so no further information to get). So if anyone here can help me to find out if it would be worth it and if there are any special wood recommendations i would greatly apreciate it. Thanks in Advance.

Has anyone got a llil Screamin' Deamon on the neck/middle of a basswood strat guitar?
I'm thinking about putting one there. I heard it once in a Strat (alder) and even though it was disguised by a Boss GT6, it still sounded amazing. It had a really sweet clean tone, very clear and articulate. But mostly I play blues on there (on a single coil more than a humbucker) and I don't know if it'd work out well.
How about one in the middle as well? I wanted a coolrails there first but eh, maybe swap them around?

Wiring configuration for P-90 Stack
I have an ES-137 and find the stock P-90's way too noisy. I have been told that the SD P-90 Stack will retain the P-90 tone (mostly). I see that the Stack P-90 is 4 conductor, so I am looking for wiring options. Suggestions?

some pup suggestions (help please)
OK, as many of you know, I was looking for S-C sized humbuckers for my strat, but I have found out that my guitar is routed s/s/h, and even though I prefer the look of s/s/s, I think a full sized humbucker is what I need to get the sound I want.OK, so I'm pretty much back with all my options open so please help me out, heres what I'm looking for:

Trade Brand new in box JB trem for 59 trem
I have a brand new JB that I would like to trade for a 59 Trembucker. BUT there's one catch. The 59 has to be black and white (to match the other black and white one I have). The JB is Black and is a Trembucker. PM me if your interested.

Warped pickguard....
At the risk of straying slightly off-topic, as anyone swapped out the pups of a strat type axe, left the pickguard lying round for a few months and then when you screwed it back on found it was not quite as flat as it was when you took it off...!

Trey's Anastasio pickups?
Just out of curiosity. Anyone know? I read somewhere that he put Duncan PAF-Style pickups in his guitars, but it didn't say which ones specifically.

EL34 Mullad re-issue Vs. Groove Tubes EL34-LS
Would be interested to hear any opinions as the time has come for a replacement. These are the two more expensive valves available from the site I've always gotten valves from. The Mullads are much cheaper, does this mean they're not as good? Although I've been informed in this forum that the Groove Tubes are over-priced.

250k or 500k
I had a 500k push/pull pot installed in a Yamaha AES620 (mahogany body, maple cap, set-in neck, JB bridge, 59 neck, two vol and master tone config w/ les paul switching and coil tap).. I like the nice even taper.. but the JB sounds a lot less trebley.. seems to have rolled off the highs... initially I thought this was the SD pickup cover I added on it but I'm starting to think that going from the initial 250k tone pot to a 500k altered the tone.. is this common and will switching to the 250k quot;brightenquot; my tone?.. I was told that 500k's are usually preferred for SD pups.. is there an quot;optimalquot; pot for a JB?

How does that sound: Strat bridge middle in serie?
I'm just wondering if anyone ever done this before. Instead of installing a real humbucker and losing the true voice of my Strat, if I mod it to allow bridge middle in serie, I guess I could get a humbucker-ish kind of tone right? Sorta like a Stag-Mag?!

Please compare the JB to the C-5 in a Les Paul
I've got an old JB in my LP right now, but I think it might be due for a repotting (I'm getting constant squealing...much more than with my Ant). I'm anticipating that this could take a while to get this done at HQ, so I'm eyeing a Custom and a spare A5 magnet I have laying around. It's either that or a Dimarzio Super Distortion.
