I have 2 guitars. 1 Japanese made prestige, 1 Korean. After spending another 300 on mods for the Korean, it sounds just as good as the Prestige. It has a slightly different feel to it, mainly due to a different neck and slightly smaller frets, but still is a real player. But the thing is, it still has that stigma of being a Korean guitar, while my other is considered a quot;truequot; Ibanez, because it's Japanese made. I honestly don't know what to think about imports. One day I think, who cares, it sounds and plays as good as my prestige. Another day I think it will always be the step child so to speak of the prestige. I've played Mexican Strats ( Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan) that rival any American made Strat, yet some people still consider them to be a quot;secondquot; to an American made one. What does everybody think. Is a fully modded Korean guitar worth it, or would most of you prefer just to have the higher end? I'm thinking about buying another Ibanez, but the one I want (SZ320) is Korean, and I'm having my doubts whether I should just look around for something else.

Anyone have experience with one of these? Tell me what to expect from it.

I've got an old Fender Super Six Reverb that I think needs a new set of tubes - preamp and power tubes.
What should I go with? (Think of it as a twin reverb. Similar or exact circuit if i'm not wrong). I just want to go with something that would reproduce its original sound. What do fenders come with originally?

So, how do you guys feel about the (Warmoth) Wolfgang neck back contour?

This is the Lite Ash guitar they make that is made in Korea but seems to be of great quality with a Birdseye Maple Neck!
I think they are the Alnico ones, but man do these sound great!

You say you have enjoyed the PG bridge model in the neck spot. Can you describe for me? Is it like a 59, APH-1, Seth?

Hey, based on a previous post, I was wondering if Evan or somebody could say whether SD offers as an option Tele pickups that are ready to be used with a 4-way switch (Bridge/Bridge Neck in Parallel/Neck/Bridge Neck in Series). I just was made aware that they apparently need a special ground wire. Does SD offer anything like this (for standard models as well as Antiquity), or would it be a Custom Shop order? If it's not an option, maybe it could be made into a Shop Floor Custom option? Just a suggestion...

I've heard a few samples of some 18 watt Marshall clones at differant sites and offhand I was pretty impressed with what I was hearing. Does anybody here own one, or have you at least tried one? Just trying to get peoples opinions on what's out there as I'm thinking of checking some out. Thanks.

1) I want a Jazzmaster (don't own one yet) with a SJM-3 QP in the bridge. For Muse/Incubus/Radiohead, should I pair it with a SJM-2 Hot or a SJM-1 Vintage?

Help! I have some SD pickups that I got second hand. I checked the identification on 's page but can't find an exact match. One Pickup says quot;D C Lquot; on the sticker and the other one says quot;APH1BLquot;. There are similar ones on the site, but nothing that's exactly the same. Can anyone tell me what these are?

What single coil bridge pickup with alnico II magnets would complement my APS1 neck and middle and not be too bright? Should I get an overwound pickup? I want the sound to just not be too bright, I want the sound to accent the neck and middle.

I am actually looking for a full body guitar to play anything from blues to jazz. I have tried lately American Delux strats with noiseless pick-ups, one version with 3 single coils and the other with humbucker at the bridge. I found the HSS better because it seemed to have a fatter sound, but still not what I am looking for. As I was reading and hearing the pick-up descriptions, I came across a description of a set up with the SL59-1 little 59 at the neck, the SJBJ-1b at the bridge and the SDBR-1n in the middle. I pretty liked the tones I heard here and a question came up to me: would it not be better in my case to get a basic American strat and let these pick-ups be built in? Would I then really need the S-1 switching system. Thanks for your help,

Okay as most of you know im a guitarist, but i found this warmoth bass when looking for warmoth guitars and well im just a sucker for a good cheap warmoth bargain and i wanna buy it!

I was at sam ash yesterday and i was plugging an acoustic electric into an electric guitar amp. the guy that worked there literally took the guitar out of my hand and said quot;you don't want to do that, you plug these into the amps over therequot;. I looked at him like he was retarded and told him flat out quot;this is what i want this amp for, i'm an electric player first and i want one amp to do bothquot; (I have been doing this for a while with my current set up) he goes on to say quot;oh this one will give you a better soundquot; it was an amp i tried just previous to that one and decided against it.
