I am considering building (or at least trying to build) a telecaster with parts from Warmoth. It seems that their part are good, but I have'nt seen them other than on their web site. Any comments?

How much is my guitar worth?
I have a Gibson Flying V Faded with the moon inlays in very good condition, no gig bag and a SD SD in the bridge. Unfortunately, my room mate knocked it over and put a hairline crack in the back of the headstock. It's too tiny to even repair, and very hard to see, and it's flush. But I still feel responsible to tell buyers about it.

direct to jack question
Installed a switch to take the hot from the 5 way direct to the output jack in a friend's axe. The effect of going direct to jack wasn't as dramatic as I thought it would be. A VERY SLIGHT brightening and hollowing of the tone, barely noticeable.

Thanks out to Lew and ArtieToo!
I finally did the 50s wiring mod for Strat that we talked about a couple months back. The thread got vaulted due to the cool schematic these two came up with.
I used that today, very simple change. Just had to reposition two connections, that's it. Easiest mod I've done so far and the results are incredible. The Tex-Mex pickups in my Jimmie Vaugh Strat, which I thought sounded good before, have opened up tremendously. Very spanky and articulate now, no treble loss when you roll the volume back, the tone control is way more useful. No changes other than the simple wire swaps were made.

Set of 59's in a Hollowbody Jazz Guitar???
I've got a Heritage H575 Jazz guitar. To those who don't know this model, the guitar is pretty much a copy of a Gibson ES-175. (Actually, the Heritage is all solid wood, no laminated top on this puppy).

Technical Amp Question! (need help!)
Hello everyone! I have a Peavey Heritage amp that was sitting in a garage for a while. On the day I got it I fired it up and it sounded ok. One speaker had a hole in it but it was fine otherwise. (keeping in mind the screwed up speaker). The power was ok and all the knobs functioned well. Now... I took the speakers out to repair them and to clean the mold out of the inside of the cabinet. I didnt touch anything else in there and i didnt get anything in there wet while cleaning.

The verdict is in on the Antiquity II Surfer...
I installed an Antiquity II Surfer in the neck position of my Godin LGT last night and all I have to say is...WOW! This pickup is hands down the best strat pickup I've played. It's chimey, sweet, smooth, sounds great both clean and under mild to moderate overdrive...everything I could ever want in a strat pickup. It also has this quot;mojoquot; about it that I haven't heard in any of the other single-coil pickups I've tried in this guitar (fender texas special, aps-2). It's hard to explain, but it's just more complex sounding with a certain quot;airquot; around the notes.

Need to fatten strat bridge PU
I put a set of Fender CS FAT 50's in my MIJ Strat (RW neck, ash body), and I really love the neck and middle PU's, but I find so bright and thin the bridge one.
So, I would like to fatten the bridge PU and have compatible output with the rest of the PU's. No matter if it is full HB or S

Advice me on a overdrive/distortion pedal...
........i am searching for a pedal to get a little bit more gain from my amp and obtain a slight volume boost during solos. I must say that untill now i have never used pedals and i have always relied on the amp to get my distortion tones.....so i do not have any knowledge on overdrive/distortion pedals. Do i need an overdrive or a distortion pedal? Can you suggest me one out of the boss zone? I would prefer one that is quite transparent and that does not influence the amp eq.....i only want it to ad a little more gain and a slight volume boost.......

My favourite 6 string sweeps
I was playing through this warm up exercise this morning, and thought I would print the 1st section of it for you guys to try. It's a 6 string arpeggio sweep/tapping exercise. Play it slowly, only pick in one direction, and mind the stretching. Set your amp for a clear, compressed, and sustaining sound so you can hear every note.
Does anyone know any other cool warm up exercises?

I Need A List Price
It's been a few years since I was in here(Some of you may or may not remember me as Stephan, I was on the first User Group CD[have there been more?]). But ever since Evan gave me a super cool after hours tour of the shop I've been getting the SD Newsletter. And after a couple years of procrastinating(on my part to place a custom shop order) Seymour has made my dream a production Only problem is: Nobody has any yet and there for don't have prices!

Anyone want a really nice guitar for not a lot of money?
I was surfing ebay just now and saw one of my old guitars I sold over a year ago. This is one of the best sounding and feeling guitars I've ever owned. I put the gold rings and duncan pickups in it. Check it out. I was almost tempted to buy it back but I've got my mind on other things.
