Ok, so i cant really pin the distortion type for classic rock. I have a line 6 flextone III and am playing a gibson les paul. I keep Hendrix and Zeppelin on the JCM-800 setting with the drive at about half, or a little more. Its just too sloppy sounding. I cant seem to dial into the distorted, yet clear tone. Anybody know of anything to help with this? A pedal or guitar modification or something?

So I've heard about noise gates and noise suppressors, and one of them mentioned by those like Deadskinslayer was the ISP Decimator. Where can I get one, and how much are they?

I've read that as a approximate rule you can work out a complimentary Pot/p'up combo by multiplying the Pick-up's DC resistance by 40...

I'm looking for advise from someone more experienced than myself (probably doesn't require much!) Recently purchased a Mexican made Tele with the intention of upgrading it with a new body, bridge and pickups. Looking for some vintage tele tone with plenty of rock guts to boot (ala Mr. Richards) Plan on purchasing a light Ash one piece body and a vintage bridge with brass saddles.
Am considering a FIve-Two for the lead and a Seth Lover at the neck. Would this be a good choice? Are there better alternatives? What problems may I run into? You know, is this a good combo? Any thoughts, advice and or comments would be appreciated.

I know all 5 box positions of the major pentatonic scale and understand how to move them around to play in different keys but was wondering what else I can do with them. For example I saw Robert S. post about how he works on scales to get ready for gigs, is there any exercises like that to help further ones knowledge of pentatonics? Or what would be the next step?

I installed this pickup in my Reverend Slingshot Custom today and I'm really digging it. It's not as bright as I expected it would be in this guitar. It has a more midrangey, singing quality, but that's sort of just how this guitar is. Sounds amazing for big thunderous rock 'n roll rhythm stuff too. I'm way pumped about it. The dude who sold it to me lied and said the cover was white. I asked him if it was creme or white, and he said white. I managed to modify one of the Reverend P-90 covers to fit it though.

Right my mates just got a spanking new sz and i've got the same but with an sh11 and a pearly gates in da neck i was wondering if an sh14 might be too trebly for his (its gonna have an alnico pro 2 in the neck) and if so is there anything you people would reccomend (other then a jb, hes already got a jb loaded guitar) catchyas
