Right now I'm very content with my rig. From just my amp I can get great tones for blues, classic rock, modern rock, and metal. I can get clean jazz tones as well. The one tone that I'd really like to get and can't from my current rig is a thick, liquid, sustaining, violin-like overdrive for jazz/fusion. Yes, reminiscent of quot;the D-wordquot; . I've read accounts of pedals being able to get in the ballpark (which is really all I can ask for, considering my budget ), most recently the HAO Rumble Mod.

A Stupid simple wiring mistake
First i'd like to thank all the guys on here who helped my with wiring up my new guitar, your knowledge is greatly appreciated, my so called grounding problem, which was driving me up the bloody wall turned out to be a quot;stupid simple wiring mistakequot; in which i got the hot amp; ground of the ouput jack round the wrong way. But thankfully all is in perfect working order. I've enclosed a pic so you can see the guitar you helped me so much with.

The Full Shred and Screamin Demon
You don't hear too much about these anymore. I was wondering who all here uses them. Do you have them? If so, how do like the tone? What guitar do you have them in?They seem to be more typical of the 80s metal sound, which people simply aren't desiring like they used to be. That said, however, there are still a lot of guys using those pickups on this board. I've never used the Full Shred, but I do love the Screamin Demon. I've got an HSS strat copy with a demon in the bridge and a Mockingbird with a demon in the neck. I think it's a bit underrated for the neck, myself. Pretty searing lead tone that balances well with the higher output humbuckers.

Turning Tube amps on/off
Ok, I feel REALLY stupid for asking this.. but I am a total rookie when it comes to tube amps. What is the correct procedure for turning them on and off? I know there are certain things you are supposed to do to preserve the tubes... but I'm kind of confused about the order of turning on the standyby switch.. unplugging your guitar.. etc.. thanks!

Wiring help
I'm about to install a 4-conductor JB into the bridge of a Fender Mexican Fat Strat. I'm used to Gibson wiring and am wondering how to go about it in the Strat. The stock pick up also has 4 wires and is wired as follows: red and ground soldered on top of the volume pot, green wire soldered to position 1 (nearest neck) of pickup selector, black and white wires soldered onto 3rd position of pickup selector. Should I just use the same wiring for the JB, or am I missing somehting?

Air Coil vs. distance
HI,
What's your opinion of having an quot;air coilquot; pickup compared to a regular pickup. In other words, have you noticed a difference in using an Air Zone compared to a Tone Zone that is set far from the strings.

Flextone III ... anyone?
Does anyone own one, or have you tried one? I am thinking of replacing my Mesa with one of these for live work, and leaving the PODxt at home for practice amp; recording. A lot of the models are the same, it will work with the foot controller I already have, and I can even move presets back and forth from the PODxt.

Screamin' Demon for Metal...
hey guys! would a screamin' demon be good for metal? i know that its not really a high-voltage monster (more like a PAF boosted a tad), so can it hold up to C#, C or even B tunings? i heard Goerge Lynch's quot;REvolutionquot; album that's tuned to B, and it sounds killer... but i think he used his signature ESP baritone, which has a JB in the bridge on that album.

First part is scooped mids, and the second is well...unscooped mids. Obviously, i'm not the greatest lead player, but it's mostly just for demonstration.
