Telecaster neck=warm?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a neck pick up for a telecaster. I'm looking for a clear sound but warm, something like the jeff buckley's neck sound. I don't know what pick up he used to use with his telecaster. I have a DiMarzio Fast Track T in bridge, and i'de like to put a SD on neck, 'cause I don't want an quot;all DM telecasterquot;, you know, i'de like to have 2 different type of pick up and to mix different personnality of pick up, I think it will be more interesting in.

Did some magnet swapping: A4/59
I got my A4 from Lew, (thanks Lew), to try in my 59, and since I had the A5 out of the 59, decided to try it in my Distortion neck.

wide neck pickup coverage
Hi! new to forum, I've had, wide neck guitar-2 3/4quot; at the nut, made. I am a 5 string bassist, who wants to play the blues. this width neck, makes pretty much straight string runs, I'm looking for wide coverage pickups, so the e strings don't fade on bends. I've used lace sensor, kinman, but not enough coverage. Will 7 string pickups work? It seems the poles will never line up, how will that affect sound. Not much on metal, so, rails seem out.
seymour tech. says trembuckers have most coverage and spread. anybody using them for blues, etc. thanks

Any Marshalls have a good clean tone?
Hey guys,

What exactly does *spongy* mean?
I hear this whenever someone talks about Alnico II. I have a Seth, so I'm familiar with A2, but I still have no idea what quality of this pickup is being described.

evolution vs JB?
I heard some real good things from another guitarist who WAS a HUGE EMG 81 fan.
he said after hearing the evolution he switched over from the 81 to it in his guitars?

Covered Custom 5
This pickup was in my Les Paul for about 3 months and has been sitting on the shelf since, it's a great pickup but I sold the guitar and I have nothing else to put it in. Selling price is $55.00.

wow...now that's a nice profit...
i was watching this les paul on ebay since it was kinda cool and odd with a bit of a zakk wylde vibe and had some potential IMO...anyway looking at the sellers past auctions, he won it on ebay for $610 a few months ago and now it just sold for $1251.11...not bad over double the cash for a burnt les paul...

Grounding 2-prong-wired gear
I have two pieces of gear that I use sometimes that were made before the 3-prong cords came along, I guess. One is a ~1968 Marantz stereo amp, and one is the 1938 Hammond amp I just bought. Is there any way I can ground these correctly for safer operation?

new project
hey everyone, i just purchased a jackson strat and am looking to improve its pickups, i want something that has a hard crunch and a high output that will sound heavy with distortion but something that will give me a bright clean sound as well. its set up H/H but i have to change a faulty switch to change anyhow so i am not against routering a middle spot for either a single coil or a humbucker. if anyone has any suggestions as to what i could use any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

GAS attack ... feedback requested
I'm in the midst of a GAS attack, and am asking you to talk me down (yeah, that'll happed) or at least steer me in the right direction.
I'm looking for a small-bodied semi-hollow. At this time, I'm considering the Ibanez Artcore AWD82 or the Squire Masterbuilt thineline tele. Neither are great guitars, but I'm not a great guitarist.

Seth and AP2
Could someone compare the two? I think I'm going with one of these for the neck position in my RG to replace the '59. I like what I've heard about the AP2, but don't want Slash's tone, which may rule this one out. I like what I've heard about the Seth, but want it to sound good with hi-gain, and know it's a vintage pickup.

How is the dimebucker?
I have not tried it yet how do these compare with the DD's?
