I'm in the midst of a GAS attack, and am asking you to talk me down (yeah, that'll happed) or at least steer me in the right direction.
I'm looking for a small-bodied semi-hollow. At this time, I'm considering the Ibanez Artcore AWD82 or the Squire Masterbuilt thineline tele. Neither are great guitars, but I'm not a great guitarist.
The fit and finish on the Artcore are temendous. Bringing a guitar like this to market at the current street price is amazing. Downsides ? The wood is Bubunga, not maple, and the pups are typical Ibanez.
The Squire Masterbuilt has good wood and SD designed pups. The finish isn't quite as nice, it's a bolt-on ( the Ibanez is a set-neck), and it's got that small tele headstock (less sustain).
(BTW, what's the deal w/ Duncan Designed pups ? I'm not familiar w/ 'em)
Advice ? Alternate suggestions (within the same basic price range) ? Your help appreciated.
I recomend you to save money and go for a decent guitar. You may be aren't a good guitarrist but a good way to improove your skills it's to get an instrument that allows you to practise things that low end instruments doesn't.
I am not talking about a 5000$ PRS... just a decent sounding guitar.
Breogan,
Are you familiar w/ either guitar ? Any feedback based upom your experience ? Your reply appreciated.
