Hi! new to forum, I've had, wide neck guitar-2 3/4quot; at the nut, made. I am a 5 string bassist, who wants to play the blues. this width neck, makes pretty much straight string runs, I'm looking for wide coverage pickups, so the e strings don't fade on bends. I've used lace sensor, kinman, but not enough coverage. Will 7 string pickups work? It seems the poles will never line up, how will that affect sound. Not much on metal, so, rails seem out.
seymour tech. says trembuckers have most coverage and spread. anybody using them for blues, etc. thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Do you need single coil sized pickups, or humbuckers?
for strat sized pickups, the Cool Rails would work. For 'buckers, look for the old SH-9 Silverbird, which has rail polepieces. They're no longer in production, so you will have to search for a used one.

Holy crap 2 3/4 ?!?!?!?!?! Most guitars are 1 7/8s or 1 11/16ths.

Id go for Tremspaced myself...

I think you'd be pretty much limited to Rail type pickups, maybe in the 7th string variety.

Can we get confirmation of the 2 3/4quot; Nut? The string spread on most bridges is less than that.

100.... Sure you don´tr mean 1 3/4 nut or 2 3/4 HEEL (like old charvels)...
That nut is wider than the string spread on most standard 5 string basses... Never mind guitars, where without a custom bridge you´d actually have a neck that tapers to THINNER as you go up....

SOmething is wrong here...

If the numbers are for real, you´re either going to have to use 7 string pickups or have extra long ones custom made....
