I have not tried it yet how do these compare with the DD's?
I haven't played a DD in years, but the Dime is a strange creature;
very dynamic, very precise, tight strong low end, bright harmonics, reduced mids, almost kind of sitar-ish when clean, hi-output but not fuzzy or overly thick
Its requires me to set the EQ a little different when I plug that guy in, but it does sound very good, takes a moment to adjust to it

Dude, no way. I mean, come on. You are stuck with the Distortion now. There is no switching.
Personally, I would never go through pickup after pickup, falling in love with each one, and then switching to something else out of curiousity and the endless search for something better. No sir, you wouldn't catch me doing that.
Nope.
Uh uh.
No way.
Um, where did all these pickups on my desk come from? Let's see, there's a JB, Jazz, EJ Custom neck and bridge, VPAF Neck, Hot and Bridge, Custom, Custom Custom, Custom 5, Air Zone, Air Norton, 59 neck, Humbucker From Hell, APH-1 neck and bridge... And they all seem to have appeared in the last three months or so. Strange.
Hmm, I haven't tried the Ducan Distortion. Lester, what do you think of those?
The madness never ends...
IMO, the distrotion is alot more versatile than the Dime! I found the Dime to be VERY trebley, sounds just like a buzzsaw, also sounds like a pissed off weedeater at the same rate. I didnt find it to be versatile at all and I found that what it does it isnt pleasing to my ears!!!!

that is because it is a JB with rails !!!! just kidding .
I had the dimebucker in a cheap dean caddy and loved it. it was nice and thick sounding. I used that guitar to play everything from pantera to allman bros. i also had it on a coil tap and when split it had some tele like tones. it has been my favorite duncan pickup so far.
I thought it sounded like a pissed off weed eater and a pretty poor knockoff of the L500L. Though it did clean up and tap really well.
I guess it's all in the amps you've got and the tone you're into!

I was not going to replace the DD with the dime but i wanted to hear about them
I love the DD but you may hate it?
it is very hot in that it delivers a real strong signal and has untouchable authority
