I`ve had the JB in my alder bodied Strat and liked it but I`m wondering if the Duncan Distortion would work out. I`m going for the usual Lynch,Warren D Jake E tone. I know Lynch used the DD and Warren and Jake used the JB , so what should a brother do.

I love my rig! Custom Shop slimmed Strat… 100w Convertible, BOSS GT-8 on the floor. So I'm frustrated about this: The BOSS GT-8 successfully switches channels on the amp, but changing to a new patch switches the amp to the lead channel by default. The switch is writable to each patch, but I'd rather not write 340 patches [not that I'd use them all, but I do want the whole pedal]. I want every patch to default to the clean channel. Questions: Can I trick this out with a custom cord? Or modding the Convertible's relay switch? I bet there's a way. Any takers, netwangers? Thanks, and let the music play… Peace, Root

Hey everyone, I have a alot of pedals and I was looking into geting a noise gate or using compression. The thing about that is I dont know enough to know If its one worth the money and two what it will do.I was wondering if anyone can tell me what they know about noise suppressors and compresion and tell me if its worth it, also make any sugesstions on which are good ones. BTW: I like Santana, Van halen and hrndix to give you an dea of what I like.

im thinking about building a seth lover strat, or a seth lover tele. How would i expect this to sound? Anybody done a tele-gib or a quot;lesstratquot;?

I've been looking for a smaller amp that is more portable than the 2X12 cabinet and 50 watt head. Stumbled across the Orange Rocker 30 combo with the twelve inch Celestion 30. No verb or effects loop, and the clean channel actually doesn't even have an eq or quot;prequot;..just a straight volume. However, the tone was good for a first time out at reasonable volumes. I didn't pull the trigger as my current rule is cash only, and never buy on the spot.

Hi all, I´m new here, I love Stratocasters and I will buy the Deluxe Strat with Locking Tremolo, I love the classic neck clean sounds but I want my guitar to be a hard rocker too with the bridge. Wich PU should I use for hard rock? 59? Please option for maple and rosewood fingerboard.

I had been wanting a duncan jazz for the neck position of my hollowbody, but since i have heard nothing but good about these i am thinking of going compleatly with VV pafs. I would like some opinions. Do you think they would be suitiable for a fully hollow electric with a spruce top. This guitar i is my jazz guitar and i want a warm yet clean, articulate sound. The sound i hear on so many great modern jazz albums The stock pick ups are ok but not all that and since the sttrat will have its new pups soon the hollowbody is the next guitar to get new ones. Opinions requested please thanks.

I have some Phat Cat P90's that sound very good. They are much brighter than the Gibson P90's that I have heard, (current production Gibson P90's). I am using 500K pots, (volume and tone). I tried .022 uf caps and recently .047 uf.

im looking to expand my american deluxe strats tonal palette. im looking at a parallel axis original trembucker for the bridge, a modern sounding single in the middle and a vintage sounding tele pickup with lots of mids and bass but enough treble to cut through nicely. any suggestions for the neck and middle? i will be using the s-1 switch with these pickups as well as using the neck tone pot with the middle because im going to be using a 500k pot for the humbucker.

Mine would probably be my 3 year old Single Rectifier Series II. Very easy to achieve nice tones with the single pair of 6L6's so it's always the go-to amp.

I just scored a pretty nice, unused Warmoth scalloped neck off of ebay. It's maple with a maple fretboard so I know it needs to be finished. The guy I bought it from doesn't seem to know if it's finished; but when I got it this afternoon I realized it feels and looks sort of like it has a satin finish on there. I don't know how to tell if it's finished or not - my only experience with maple necks is with my sticky, glossy Fender neck.

In the same amp, what would be the differences between a ceramic magnet 100 watt 12 inch EV, and a Celestion Vintage 30?

I would like to trade an Sh-5 Custom or a Full Shred Neck for an EMG 85 with quick connect (pots and other accessories not needed).

I've been digging how these things look. They sound pretty great too.

Has anyone tried this?
