I'm looking into getting a synth. Not an instrumental synth, but one that make odds bleeping noises and such. I'm hoping to spend around $500, and I was wondering if anyone here can help point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Problems with the Neighbor's CB Radio
I've been having problems for quite some time with our neighbor and their CB radio hobby. The problem is that my amp (and everyone else's) picks up the CB radio transmissions, resulting in something similar to what happens on spinal tap. I've tried pretty much every non-drastic option to fix this, but since they're right next-door it's pretty much out of my control. Anyways, last night I was thinking, quot; Why not construct a Faraday Cage around the ampquot; that would eliminate pretty much any RF interference, and since i use shielded guitar cable, I should get fairly good results. I was curious to know if anyone else has had a similar problem, and what (if anything) they did to remedy it. I was thinking about building the Faraday Cage around my rack, or perhaps just creating a box large enough to hold a guitar head.

Using correct Impedence when switching power modes?
I have marshall amp with pentode and triode switch, 16 and 8 ohms selection switch. From what I have read triode halves the wattage output. One user on the forum said that is also halves the impedence used.

Trade my 10 hour swamp thang for a g12h30, hellatone 30 or v30 /hellatone 60
I have a like new (10 hours) swamp thang 8 ohms. I am looking to trade it for a g12h30 or hellatone 30. I am also interested in a v30 or hellatone 60. I want to see how they sound compared to my eminence governors and wizards. If I like them I could be selling one of my wizards or 1 of my governors so I can mix eminence and celestion models in one cab. Let me know people. Thanks

Warmoth push/pull pot
It's actually a push/push pot, but I was wondering if anybody here used/uses one. I just put one in my Strat with a tapped bridge pickup, the tap is fine but the pot is the tone control and it seems to have a very strange taper...from 10to about 3 it seems to have almost no effect then from 3 to 0 it gets very fat very fast! Anybody else have this quot;problemquot;?

Quick question about wiring mini switches?
For this split diagam is the bucker split when the switch is down towards the soldered lugs or up towards the empty lugs? I just wanna make sure which way to install the switch. In this diagram, the Bucker would be split when the switch is down...
It is so because when the switch is down, the two lower lugs are connected to each other and one coil is sent to ground.

Oiling a Rosewood Neck
My Warmoth guitar has a rosewood neck, and I absolutely love the feel of the bare wood. However, I'd like to oil it with something so that it doesn't dry out. I was originally going to use tung oil, but I'm told I'd have to seal the wood with laquer or epoxy first, and that sort of defeats the purpose of the rosewood neck. I also have teak oil and rosewood oil available. The teak oil seems like it would work well, but how would it react to rosewood as apposed to teak. The rosewood oil probably couldn't hurt, but would it actually do anything or would it just soak in? For unfinished maple (the back of the neck) use tung oil. Look for oil that they used on the stocks of rifles.

Fender Strat Customization Input
I play from a 1985 Marshall JCM800, a Reissue 1960b Cab, with Line 6 Distortion and A PRS Custom 24 and i have a American Strat as a backup. The Guitar player in my band quit so now im the only one and i need a backup i can rely on. Im looking for the Perfect 3 pickups for my Strat; a humbucker with 2 single coils. I want a range from Saosin to The Used to Atreyu to Rise Against, while still sounding somewhat original. In other words i want to have a in your face guitar sound thats not too metal but not too light; somewhere in the middle. The PRS is perfect but my strat needs to be a reliable backup. I was thinking:

Clean Volume Boost?
Hello. Can anyone recommend a clean volume boost. I need to raise the volume for leads. I definitly don't want to color my tone in anyway. Just a clean boost. Possibly true bypass. Not an overdrive.

Routing Tools
What tool/tools do you need to route a guitar body? My friend is letting me hack up his Squire. I've been using a chisel and mallet, but I was wondering if there was a power tool out there that's more suitable.

Need A Bone Nut For Annother New LP
Anyone out there have, or have the ability, to cut a bone nut for a 57' RI Goldtop? I have one inbound (pic below) and it will need a new nut right away. I use 9-46 strings on my LP's. I will of course pay for the nut and labor if anyone can provide. I just need something to get me buy until I can schedule a time for Splawn Guitars to take my new baby in and give the nut a proper dressing, and do the rest of a good initial setup.
Consider it done.

EMG or Duncans for my DKMGT Dinky?
I can't decide between some EMG-81s or JB and Jazz. All of your opinions would be useful. I have only played on each kind of pickup once and I did notice quite a difference between the two. I know EMG-81s have more output and all. I've always been a fan of the Megadeth sound and Mustaine used Duncans. On the contrary I've heard EMG-81s are more versatile than Duncans. I would like it do be able to do more than just heavy metal. The Dinky has EMG-HZ pickups in it right now which of course aren't bad I just need to get a little better sound for recording coming up in a few months. I play alot of metal but also alot of hard-rock stuff like Satriani and Van Halen. So which ones would some of you guys pick? Thanks.
