I plugged my Valvetronix 120 watt head into my Stereo Marshall V30 4x12...tonight.
Now the British tones, especially the Marshall tones, are beefy and the mids are right..The BF 2x12 tones still sound really good, except the tones only project foward and without the spaciousness the open back cab provides, but the tone is clean, tight, and headroomy...LOL The JCM 800 and 900 tones are very convincing through this cabinet..I didn't get a chance to mess with the quot;Plexiquot; setting because it got late, but I'll do that tomorrow..

Pick out an amp for me...
The MESA's a cool amp and all but at the end of the day it's not entirely my thing. I liked it enough until I plugged my OCD into the clean channel and I found out i liked the OCD's gainy tones better than the amp's gainy tones! And if I'm only gonna have one good amp I better really love that thing... I'm starting to looking for a replacement.

If anyone owns an SD Live Wire Heavy Metal...
could you post a clip of your playing? I don't trust the clips on the website. I'm anxious to slap one of those humbuckers into my Ibanez RGT42DXFM (which will be here in a few days!! )

Hey all!

What is the effect of metal pickup covers?
Like, on a Les Paul pickup, what does the chrome pickup cover do to the sound? If anything? Are they just there to make it look nice or do they have some sort of magnetic effect on the strings?

Question about non-working Tone Knob!
I got a standard modified strat and the treble side tone knob has just stopped working. Im guessing because of bad wiring and such. I dont care much about it being fix because I dont even use it. My question tho is that when a Tone knob stops working or is disconnected does the actual tone of the pickup stay as if the tone knob was on max? Or does it stay wherever you last had it? I really need to know because I dont know if its my JB pickup or just me? Ive been playing alot with a DiMarzio Super Distortion which is pretty trebly. I guess I might just be paranoid about the two Pups? So any answers on my tone knob question???

What should I change first?
I have Squier Standard Stratocaster with DiMarzio HS-3 in the bridge and YJM in the neck (i don't use middle pickup) and it sound great. What I should change first on the guitar: tuners or nut? If tuners recommend me which (i want staggerd so i don't need string trees) or to put LSR Roller Nut? I would put LSR Roller Nut because it will serve for good time and sounds ok to me. Maybe I should change bridge? So what should I do first by your opinions?

Routing for a neck single?
I have a guitar that is rear routed for the single humbucker configuration. Would routing for a neck single coil be impossible since the controls are right under the volume and tone knob and there is no pickguard, just mounting rings...
