I got a standard modified strat and the treble side tone knob has just stopped working. Im guessing because of bad wiring and such. I dont care much about it being fix because I dont even use it. My question tho is that when a Tone knob stops working or is disconnected does the actual tone of the pickup stay as if the tone knob was on max? Or does it stay wherever you last had it? I really need to know because I dont know if its my JB pickup or just me? Ive been playing alot with a DiMarzio Super Distortion which is pretty trebly. I guess I might just be paranoid about the two Pups? So any answers on my tone knob question???

the tone pot acts like it isnt there. also tone pots only filter out treble (higher value capacitor = more bass at '0' setting) so without a tone pot the guitar will sound like the pot is on '10'. If your pickups are too trebly then you might want to fix the tone pot and use it.

So My JB pickup should act as if the Tone is FULL on. Even though the wiring like cut out and it doesnt even work at all anymore?

uh ... pots are $2.50 - $5

just replace it

I dont care about the tone knob working as long as it doesnt effect the pickup. I just want to make sure if it doesnt work that the Pup will act as if it is at full tone.
