Ok...we all have GAS and it seems that as soon a you guy something you get GAS again (or you still have it!)...what is the one guitar that you've always had GAS for but you've never gotten?
There are several guitars I have wanted for a long time, and for whatever the reason I have never owned one, but the one for me is a Gibson Barney Kessel...I played one at a guitar show in about 1995 and since then I have wanted one.
Im curious to see you you guys really want
Well I want some sort of frankenstrat. I'd like a custom shop Jackson. I fell in love with a couple of the guitars in the Hamer Monaco series. I've got to have at least one. I want a good semi-hollow. I'll have to have a LP or copy (a '59, if I ever make my millions) with a vintage vibe all around.
But the one that I REALLY want. The one I'd give up all the others for (except maybe a '59 LP, I don't think I could ever give that up) would be a fully custom made guitar hand made by one of the top luthiers in the world. I haven't decided exactly what I want, though. I'm thinking something along the lines of a Brian Moore as far as looks. Probably 24 fret, neck through, with a floyd. I'm not quite sure of the pups and wood type yet. I'm pretty sure of what tone I want, but I'm not terribly worried about it right now. It'll be a while before I get my thousands saved up for this axe. Keep an eye out for it 5-10 years down the road, hopefully.
I have always suffered from slight P-90 gas. Not severe gas- I guess that’s why I have yet to “medicate.” A second hand SG classic might just prove to be the necessary prescription.
Damn this forum! The rampant samsaric grasping is weakening any resolve I might have had.
Jackson DK1 Dinky
Musicman Silhouette
Any Charvel San Dimas
Ernie Ball Musicman EVH model, not the Axis, but the signature model. That guitar just feels right. I like it better than the Wolfgang.

I'd definitely like to try one of those, but I've never played any Music Man. Someday!!!
Does the EVH model have an OFR?

It's a licensed FR, I think it was made by Schaller but don't quote me on that.
I knew I should have snagged one of those for $1200-$1300 new when I had the chance. Now they're going for that price and more used.
For the past 3-4 years I was trying to get Scott Lentz to build me a bass with a body like the 54-56 Precision with a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 1.5quot; nut, Tele headstock and either Jazz pickups or a single coil P pickup.
Sound familiar? Yeah, Fender made the Mike Dirnt bass pretty well like that...
A guitar with an Ibanez JS-style body, string-through hardtail, with the neck and all other facets of the guitar adjusted to my specs.
Long time Gas....
A Gamp;L S-500. I want an all single coil guitar, but I keep putting it off.
About to be long time gas....
PRS McCarty w/rosewood neck. I want one, but it'll take me a bit before I can afford it. On a side note, saving for this axe has put the Gamp;L on the back burner, yet again.
wow after looking at it i definitely have gas for the musicman evh. that thing is not cheap! on ebay theyre all around 1400-2000. damn. well my real gas at the moment is a guitar with an OFR. 2 humbuckers. and an ebony board.

my understanding is that Ernie Ball just moved the electronics and labeled it 'axis.' i read somewhere that nothing else was changed. I've seen used EVHs with a higher price tag then a new 'axis' so this doesnt make sense to me. Oh and if you have never played a music man guitar then you dont know the true meaning of 'GAS'.
Rumor has it they are working on another petrucci model (drools). the prototype pics on their forum show mahogany body, neck through construction, maple top, and fixed bridge. I am having GAS for a guitar that you can't even buy yet!
My long time GAS: A freakin' tube amp! Been waiting for 2 years for one, and I've had the money for one for 1 year, but I just couldnt make up my damn mind.
Thanks TGWIF... sound city shall be mine in about 2 days, 3 hours

I've read that too and there are some other minor differences between the Axis and EVH. Overall though it's the same guitar. If I can't land an EVH sig, I'd settle for an Axis. I've played both of them. First time I played the MM EVH, I fell in love with it. It was just perfect. Great resonance, nice balance, the neck and bridge pickups balance beautifully. Very easy and comfortable to play. MM's are really nice instruments.
EBMM John Petrucci Model. But only because of the 'Mystic Dream' finish. That finish goes beyond imagination...
I've always wanted some type of Telecaster. Despite being heavily into the supposedly Tele-phobic metal sound, I love their tone and their look and feel. I've had my eye on a 72 reissue ever since I started playing and hope to finally buy a RI Tele Deluxe when I finally sell my Parker.
Never played one....never even SEEN one, but I've always wanted one of these:
Gretsch Syncromatic Cutaway w/Filtertrons!!!

I just want to point out that it only has one Filtertron!
IIRC, the guy who invented fire also wants a john milner model pickup
i wanna own a JCM 800 before i go as well.. EL84s dont do it for me!
to own an older (i.e pre-1995) les paul, SG or explorer would be cool, too
