Im kinda confused about this whole Rw/Rp. My guitar is going to be S/S/H. So when i order my pups do i have to order the middle pup Rw/Rp so i wont get any hum noise. Someone please explain this to me.
RW/RP is so in a S/S/S guitar the notch positions (2 and 4) will be hum cancelling...that said, I mnot sure if you should use an RW/RP pickup in the middle of an S/S/H set up or not...it has been talked about several times on here before but I never followed it because I don't have an S/S/H guitar. You could either do a search or just wait for more answers...good luck
It'll work with a middle RW/RP pickup in an S/S/H guitar because then position 2 will cancel the hum (neck and mid). Position 4 will be quiet as well. This is how my Strat behaved when I put a 'Little 59 in the bridge with the 2 single coils.
the RW/RP will work fine w/ the humbucker, and also give you noise cancelling when used in combination with the neck pickup.
you may want to consider one of the many wiring mods to allow you to split the humbucker if you are interested in the single coil bridge and middle sound. (it can be achieved a number of ways), either a toggle switch or a push pull tone knob are typical. check out Seymours tech tips and wiring diagrams, or just ask around here.
peace out,
