Played the same guitar through an a/b box to a AD120VTX 2x12(Neodogs) and a AD60VTH with 2x12 V30 Loaded Avatar open back. Both had the same preamp settings. The V30's were louder, more articulate and had a broader frequency response both in clean and under gain. The Neo's on the otherhand, though not bad sounding, sounded a bit sterol and cardboard like to me. I'm sure that as they break in this will change some, but I was so much more impressed with the V30's. The open back Avatar set about 3 feet from the wall produced a multi dimentional sound that really thickened it up. John, this is where the Marshall settings finally came to life. Dave at Avatar was right about using a couple v30's for this amp, it sings! Next on the list is to a/b my Eminenece loaded closed cab with the Avatar. Story at eight..........
My buddy Keith and I both agreed that we just couldn't get a bad sound to come out of either of these amps. Well worth the money!
I find I Like the V30s also Ryan, but so far my experience has only been with the Marshall 4x12 Slant cab....Another idea would be to stick a set of V30s into my Fender CT cab instead of buying another 2x12 cab?
The Avatar 2x12 is priced very reasonable though..
Thanks for posting this buddy...
