I have a sh-2 Jazz neck and i think it could be faulty ( ? ).
The 3 slug poles of the unwounded strings are very weak in magnetism : i tested it by letting a piece in metal resting on the pole and pulling it off and i don't feel much of an attraction compared to the others strigs slug poles.
And especially the B and even more the E string , hardly any feeling of magnetism pull .
Is it normal ?
It shouldn't be... but I'm not sure. Do you feel this strings are weaker in output too?
Since all of the poles of a Jazz humbucker are not magnets but are steel screws or steel slugs and they rely on the magnet underneath the coils for thier magnetic strength, there's no reason I can think of that some would be stronger or weaker than the others.
Unless they are not in contact with the bar magnet situated under and between the two coils for some reason. I don't know how that could be though!
Since it's an uncovered pickup you could take a look and see, but I doubt you'll find anything unusual.

I wonder if the bar magnet is centered under the bobbins? There is a little room to move back and forth in the PAF style pickups I've taken apart. (I always center them... is that what everybody else does?)

That's kind of what I was thinking: that maybe the magnet isn't quite centered. But I've never found that to the case. Lew
