Hi,
First post here, as an introduction. I'm not a real big user of pickups, but this looks like a good place to just hang around and talk shop from time to time.

Palm Muting Question
OK, say you are playing a full step bend, then you hold that bend, and as you slowly release it you play stacato (think Angus Young this is a very common classic rock lick) notes.
Question is; how do you produce the stacato? Because I've been kind of quot;digging inquot; to kill the note; I guess with the tip of my index finger and I don't think thats the right way.

Due to some interest, I present to you my Warmoth Goldtop Telecaster!
It's official, I got bit by the Tele bug and I'm hooked Telecasters are so badass and I'm loving mine so much!
After my whole UPS ordeal, I've felt like this guitar is a miracle. I honestly thought it was going to be lost and I was going to have to push to get a refund from UPS.

Help.....I'm having a serious GAS attack
Gosh I miss the way life was just three months ago. Then if I wanted a guitar I would just go buy it. Now with a newly aquired mortgage I cant go and just drop $800-$900 on one of these bad boys. Ever since watching(and listening) to Warren Haynes on the Allman Brothers DVD I just can't get the sound of an ES-335 out of my head. I really think the ES-333 is the best bang for the buck at $800 on the used market. It's just a 335 without the fancy appointments and finish. Do you guys have any experience with one? I am convinced we all need GAS counseling!!!

Kramer Question
I found a rough Kramer guitar that looks like a Strat except for the wierd head stock. It has controls like a Strat with an extra switch and a Humbucker at the bridge ( Floyd something Rose?) the guy wants $35 Would I be off the mark to buy this for electric slide use?

Reconfig on homemade strat
Now that my homemade is needing some upgrades, I decided I would also change the pickup configuration as well. It's been a dual humbucker guitar for years and I just got a dual humbucker pickguard for it earlier this year but my LP serves the dual HB area perfectly so this one is going to go 1 hum(b) - 1 single(n), with a new pickguard too.

Custom bodies for Godin Necks
I have 2 Godin Mahogany necks lying around.... They were given to me with instructions if i make a body for them i have to sand the Godin name off the headstock or paint over it... That being said they are great necks... One is a brand new LG neck 24 3/4 scale 24 frets... the other is a slightly used 25 1/2 scale 22 fret neck off a LGX...... Headstock shape is 3 tuners per side and angled back, just in case you have never seen a Godin

USACG strat neck came in today!
Well, after some interesting UPS activity, the neck FINALLY got here. After all the frustration, this neck is amazing. Great figuring, everything is absolutely top notch. The fretwork is simply stunning, and you'd swear there was already some sort of finish there. I can't wait to this thing sprayed and playable.
Beautiful neck! Are you doing to sand the quot;USA Custom bumpquot; off the headstock to make it match the Fender profile?

Dobro recomendations
Hey guys, I have recently gotten a hair up my a$$ to get a dobro or resonator. What should I get?? Should I get like a $400ish Fender and stick a fishman in it, or should I really spend a bit more and get a real Gibson one? I know the real ones have the square necks that need to be played like a lap steel. I am a pretty decent slide player, I just want to add a different color to my solos. I have been playing around with some old school country and southern rock stuff, so would a resonator with a normal neck be the right thing? Just need a point in the right direction.
