Well, after some interesting UPS activity, the neck FINALLY got here. After all the frustration, this neck is amazing. Great figuring, everything is absolutely top notch. The fretwork is simply stunning, and you'd swear there was already some sort of finish there. I can't wait to this thing sprayed and playable.
Beautiful neck! Are you doing to sand the quot;USA Custom bumpquot; off the headstock to make it match the Fender profile?
Nah, I'm not really going for authenticity, I'll probably just leave it.
but you need a logo!!!! you can't spray it until there's a logo!!!
Go for a Gun Oil Tint, similar to how Gamp;L does it. It'll bring out the birdseyes and abalone markers. Looks great. How much? I'm thinking of getting a tele neck eventually from them.
I have a can of satin nitro from Reranch just waiting to hop on haha. This ran me $240 from them, but I have a word of warning. In all the drama with UPS, I discovered they only insured the package for $100, something that didn't really sit too well with me.

True! Just get some waterslide decal paper (for laser or inkjet) at a hobby shop.
SCHWING!!!
That birdseye is awesome

wow that's a great looking neck, nice figure!! as others said, it needs a logo for sure...if you need help with a design for one let me know i can give you a hand with that.
my neck came today also...i decided not to go with warmoth or USACG i just got a brand new maple '04 american strat neck off ebay...now i have a body, neck, neckplate and input jack...bridge is in the mail...just a few more parts to order....building guitars is fun, i gotta do this more often!!

Haha, you guys and your logos! I really like the figuring on the headstock, so I'm contemplating not using one. If nothing else, when someone looks for the quot;fenderquot; on the head and doesn't see one they'll be much more likely to go quot;hey man what is that?quot; . We'll see...
Beautiful neck, how much did it set you back? I ask because I'm thinking of doing a strat project as well and obviously everyone it is up between warmoth and usacg.
I named the price a few posts up

My bad, hmm I might just go with them, they aren't too much more exspensive it seems. The only bad review thing I've heard so far about them was you saying the insured it poorly.
Yeah, and really that's a minor beef as you could just make a point to mention that to them in an email. They actually came in MUCH cheaper tha Warmoth on the specs I wanted. I got a LSR nut prep, straight 9.5quot; radius, and a very very cool back shape.
