I have 2 Godin Mahogany necks lying around.... They were given to me with instructions if i make a body for them i have to sand the Godin name off the headstock or paint over it... That being said they are great necks... One is a brand new LG neck 24 3/4 scale 24 frets... the other is a slightly used 25 1/2 scale 22 fret neck off a LGX...... Headstock shape is 3 tuners per side and angled back, just in case you have never seen a Godin
What body shape should i do... I have a few Fender trems, and some Fender Hardtail strat bridges lying around... also a bunch of different pickups.... A brand new set of Duncans... JB/Jazz set...
Any idea what shape the bodies should be? LP, SG? something custom?
I was thinking of maybe an SG or LP style body for the 24 3/4 scale neck with my Gibson Mini Humbuckers... Of maybe some sort of hollow body LP Double cut away

iirc, the godin necks have an offset neck butt and mounting holes unlike the typical fender type. also, the neck pocket is different from that of a standard found on aftermarket bodies. if that is so, you would want a singlecut body with a neck pocket specially routed for your neck.
btw, do let me know if you intend to sell any of your necks.

Ya yes i know they are a special fit.... that is why i'd make my own bodies to fit.. I've made homemade guitars from lumber in the past... I've made both necks and bodies... No problem
The 25 1/2 scale LGX neck i kind of hang onto as it is a good spare neck for my Godin Solidac... but the LG 24 3/4 neck i do not have anything that would fit so i want to make my own body.

Out of curiosity where did you get Godin necks from? I love the neck on my SDxt (the body is lacking though, maple/poplar? ), and would love to get one or two more...

Love my Godin Solidac..... It is amazing and it also has the Maple/poplar body... I only wish i had the slightly newer ones without the pickguard.... But mine is nice anyways... i have the Brown sunburst model.. I have tried a few other Solidacs that sucked compaired to the one i own... It seems to just sing!
As far as the necks go i know a lot of techs... I get necks given to me all the time... Most are slightly damaged or used necks and parts some stores have lying raound and just want rid of... The 2 Godin necks i was given when a local store was moving.... They gave me a Yamaha Pacifica neck and 2 Godin necks that were in their shop forgotten about and they were one less thing to move.. I've had them for years and have done nothing with them. They just told me if i used them on a custom body to remove the Godin name off the headstock. I've been hanging onto the one as a spare for my Solidac.
It's kind of funny but when i first started to make guitars people gave me a ton of necks for some reason... Jackson style, Lado, a Wolfgang neck, the Godins, The Yamaha, and few others.. But i have not used them as i like to make my own necks.
