My amp is dead?
I've been playing a Crate GFX-65T for about 4 years now. It's been a good amp - just about all I need. It's all SS - 3 channels - 1 clean and 2 overdrive - with 3 separate FX programs - with an onboard chromatic tuner.
I've been out of country for a couple of weeks - so I haven't played the amp for about a month.

pickups for alder strat
I have an American series strat, alder body and maple neck/fretboard, with tremolo bridge. I was thinking about installing two humbuckers, a JB in the bridge and a 59 in the neck.

Played the Fender Concert Reverb
I finally decided that I had enough with Marshall didtortions, and hauling a 4x12 is too much for my old aching body. I went out to look for a small clean amp head and a smaller cab thinking I can just hook up a stomp box to it for distortion. Then I saw this Fender Concert Reverb. It was larger and heavier then what I had in my mind. I picked up an MIM Strat leaning right next to it and started playing. It sounded real good! There was also a DRRI standing by its side. I plugged in the DRRI and tried it also. Let me tell you, for those who own a DRRI, sorry folks, the Concert Reverb won the shoot out out right. The 4x10 speakers broke out so nice when they were pushed. It just reminded me of the movie quot;Close Encounter of the Third Kindquot; when the mother ship responded to the keyboardist. The DRRI was the keyboard and the Concert Reverb was the mother ship. It was quot;In your facequot;! There was another guy standing behind me when I tried the amps out. He told he had just ordered an DRRI and he would go back to canael that order and get the Concert Reverb instead. Unfortunately, as I had mentioned, the Concert Reverb is a little too big and heavy for me; but if I couldn't find anything to fit my bill, I'll come back and buy this one.

Samick AV-7 vs. Agile 3000 ????
I have a Samick quot;Greg Bennettquot; Les Paul, AV-7 model. Bought it online and have been amazed by the quality right out of the box. Action is perfect--low, no buzzes, and every single note sings like a bird when you bend it. Workmanship is beautiful. Only have two complaints and the first one may sound strange--it's too light--only weighs about six pounds and I assume a heavier guitar would give me more sustain. Second, the tone is pretty dark--I know Les Pauls are quot;warmquot; but it hard to coax much of a bite out of it, even with the treble cranked on any numer of amps.

How do I raise the action on my Strat?
I know this question makes me sound like a neophyte but I've honestly never had to do this. How do I raise the action on a single string for my Strat? The bridge is stock and I only need to raise the B and high e strings.

Stringthru tune-o-matic versus tune-o-matic w/ tailpiece
OK, is there any real reason to have a tailpiece? Is there any difference in sustain or tone? How about in string tension? Does the angle difference result in more string breakage?

trouble with crate excaliber gx-900h
as i stated earlier, lightning hit my house the other day and fried most of my stuff. my crate head (which is my favorite) will power up and play for maybe 5 to 20 minutes then start crackling and hardly any sound comes out. this only started since the lightning storm, (i think my line 6 spider got the worst because it wont even power on). any ideas what may be wrong with the crate? i am claiming the other stuff on my insurance, but i would rather keep my crate if it is not too big of a fix.

Hughes amp; Kettner..Good amps? need opinions.
Hello, I've thought about saving up for a Hughes amp; Kettner amp, and I just wanted to know whether the quality of their amps is good or bad. From what I've heard they should be good, but I'd like to hear some more opinions from people who own or have played one.

Kinda puzzled, another Invader question
The folks where I bought the Invader PUPS have said that the bridge PUP will work fine in the neck position. They also said that Invaders are not made in neck. Any suggestions? I really am not planning on putting the bridge in the neck, will DUncan swap the bridge for a neck?
