Fuller sound....
Okay, I was wondering on this. I got a fat strat with duncan in the bridge and stock single coils in the middle and neck. I was wondering if I put a 500k pot and leave the humbucker, will it have a fuller/thicker humbucker sound?
If it's just wired to the volume?

songwriting help
alright, this is something that's been stuck in my head for a long while. It's not the kind of music I usually write (more of a bluesy folk) and I've only gotten one verse. Please feel free add in. I dont know the name of the chords. So when you see D, it's actually D without the middle finger on the e string. When you see C9, it's actually C9 with the e string open and the D string silent. When you see C9/B, it's actually C9 with instead of the 3'rd fret on the A string, it's the second, but the e is still open and the D is still silent.

FS: American Standard Strat /w Extras
Hey guys, I recently traded for this Strat and I've realized that it's just not my quot;thingquot;. I'd much rather have a nice H/H configured stoptail axe and a mediocre S/S/S than I would the opposite. Anyways, here are the details and pics.

What Do P90's Sound Like???
Can those who have actual experience with P90's describe the tonal characteristics of them? I am a big fan of Leslie West's guitar tone and his classic signature tone comes from P90's but still I am not able to put my finger on the typical P90 tone the way I can identify certain humbuckers or Strat-style single coils. How would you say P90's compare to vintage humbuckers? Also, how close are Phat Cats to the real thing?

String Spacing
I've been told on this forum that the string spacing on the Saraceno pup is wrong for my SG in the neck position. Will the Jazz, Livewire Classic, or Custom Mini be alright? Just thought I'd check so I can have some options when this Saraceno pick up arrives.

Tonewood?
How good is tone wood? I might get my Friend's Epiphone for free, so I'm thinking of possibly upgrading it by taking away it's stock pickup and replacing it with a JB or a Custom.

Strat GAS...new axe...pics!
Have needed a quot;realquot; strat for a while. So what did I do? Get a Warmoth strat and personalize it. I picked it up for just shy of 500 bucks. It had a white pearly pickguard with EMG's but I replaced it with a Carvin unit that I had on an old Squire. Replaced the gold jack (it was 3 way for the active pups) with a chrome one. I usually hack saw and bend new trem arms to get them as I like but I decided to keep the gold one intact and use my old chrome arm instead. I have a nice set of fender locking tuners that might find their way on too but for now I'm going with what's already there.

Odd Epiphone Exployer problem
Last spring sometime i bought an Epiphone with a broken neck... It was a Korina Exployer.... I have bought broken neck Epi's before and repaired them the best i can and play them. Tonight i was trying to intonate the Exployer and found that from the factory the bridge is in the wrong location.... I was adjusting the saddles to intonate it and the saddles would not come forward enough to intonate... It's a set neck guitar so nothing has moved and the repaired neck is not a factor.. The bridge is not damaged or bent... They drilled the bridge about 1/8th too far back and on a slightly different angle then my Epi LP that has the same bridge and scale length... Now i know why someone broke the neck... It's a POS.... Do i -A- plug and redrill the stock bridge? or -B- add a Floyd since it's all F'd up anyways....

Replacing preamp tubes
Do preamp tubes need periodic (regular) replacement as power tubes do? I got a mixed answer from Mesa Boogie on this question.

Tokai or Elite? Also Epi LP question
Yes, another thread about wanting an LP tone but too cheap to buy the real deal..
Which would be recommended? Does the Tokai have a veneer top?
