Here is the problem that I am having. I have three columns with
'employee #', 'Last Name', and 'First Name'.
A B C
Emp# Last First
1 Smith John
2 Doe Jane
. . .
. . .
. . .
I want to set up a formula so that when I input the number quot;1quot; on cell
D1, quot;Smithquot; will populate E1, and quot;Johnquot; will populate F1. And if I
were to input quot;2quot; in cell D1, quot;Doequot; will populate E1, and quot;Janequot; will
populate F1. Thank you very much.--

View this thread: www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=502213It sounds like a perfect use of =vlookup().
You may want to read Debra Dalgleish's notes:
www.contextures.com/xlFunctions02.html (for =vlookup())
