Short and simple, do these exist?

Thats just me.
Well, it doesn't have to be a quot;gainquot; knob necessarily, but something that functions the same at least. To tell you the truth I don't really know what a master volume control does. Is it kind of like you have a volume control for the preamp and then a quot;masterquot; volume control for the power amp?
With an amp with a volume and a master voulme the master is used to create distortion BUT...in 70's SF Fender amps with master volumes it really doesn't work like that...
Yes, they're called Marshall's.

Not exactly a Bassman, but the 90's Blues Deville 4-10's were designed to fill that niche, and also the Peavey Classic 50. Not the same, but it's the answer to 'a Bassman with more gain.' The best solution is buy a Bassman (like my LTD for $900), then buy the absolute best OD pedal you can find.
Well yeah I knew about the Marshall thing, but I don't want to go spending that type of money. I'd probably only want to spend about $500 or so dolares (which, sadly, rules out your Bassman, GJ). I guess what I'm looking for is a single channel amp that will provide a nice, semi-high-gain crunch when I put an OD pedal like a TS9 or SD1 in front of it. Pretty much I'm looking for what everybody else is looking for, a cheap Plexi-like amp. I never thought I'd be in the same boat, but I guess there's a reason why everybody likes these amps.
EDIT: May I add that the reason I'm asking about this is because I've been playing around with the Bassman model on my PODxt, which has a drive knob. I love the tone with the Bassman's drive on full and the Tubescreamer model on neutral settings. This also works with the JTS-45 model (supposed to be a JTM-45 preamp into Bassman power section).
the jtm 45 is the marshall that is the copy of the fender bassman with a few differences. my favorite marshall!!
