I took a chance on this amp in an auction, anyone know anything about them? It's a tube amp.
I've got a crate Vintage club 50 watt amp with 2x12 config and it's a killer amp. Get some wonderful tones out of that thing!
I wasn't sure if it was quot;vintagequot;, or the name was Vintage Club 20. That's what I won though. What kind of tubes does it take?
my vintage club uses EL84's ...4 of them
Yeah, I found some reviews on HC. It sounds like that I've been looking for. Thanks!
yeah it's a great amp, and my 50 takes pedals very well....it's a good backup for me
I have been looking at Blues Jrs lately, but this came up. It seems pretty close. I wanted something 15-20 watts to use at home..something that will take an OD pedal to drive it. I got it for $215, so I don't think I did that bad.
nope, you didn't do bad at all! I've got a blues jr. as well and I love it, but I got a great deal on my Blues Jr. and paid $220 ($240-ish after tax), so I couldn't argue with the price
If it's anything like the 4 EL-84 equipped V32 Palomino, you'll love it! That amp really cuts the mix in a band setting. It gets such a great Marshall crunch (you'd never guess it wasn't a Marshall unless you looked at it) and it sustains like a mofo. Even the cleans cut through a loud drummer well (although it does have a slight smooth breakup by that point). I have heard very few amps that sound better than this thing and I bought it for $500 out the door brand spankin' new (I'd put it up against any of the old amps I used to own including the Hamp;K Triamp and Bad Cat Hot Cat 30).
EL84's and 12AX7
It responds real well to tube changes and it comes with a pretty good speaker too. I loved mine, wish I didn't sell it. A bit of Marshall a bit of Vox for cheap, you can't beat them.
