I wired up a CC/APH in one of my Charvel 750xl's the other day. I've got it wired with a 5 way switch as so:

1) full neck
2) split neck
3) split neck/split bridge
4) full neck/full bridge
5) full bridge

Only on position 5 do I have bad ground issues. I have unsoldered and resoldered the green and bare wires to/from the pot multiple times. There are no grounding issues when this pickup is used in conjunction with another pickup. I even wired the bridge pickup split by itself at one time and there was no bad ground. WTF am I doing wrong here?

You may not being doing anything wrong. I gave up on figuring out ground noise years ago. My 59's hum . . . my SSL-6's don't. In the same quot;computer monitorquot; infested environment. I give up. Its magic.

I had the same pickup in one of my Hamers for a short period of time before I decided to go with zebra coils in that one. I didn't have any grounding issues in it at all. In the Charvel it is a loud hum that stops whenever I touch anything metal, knobs, strings, etc (just like you would expect). It just seems odd that it only hums when used in full, not split, in this guitar. I have another Custom/Custom lying around I could swap in there and see. Maybe it's infested by gremlins.
