I've done this with my 355 but I shudder whenever I have to do it -- it's such a battle to get everything back in position, especially the jack.

I have heard that some folks tie strings to the pots, switch and jack and just pull the strings to bring each control back into position.

For those who do this, what part of the pot/jack/switch do you tie the strings to? And what do you do to prevent the string from getting pulled all the way into the hole? (Maybe use key label rings?)

Use long string!

I guess you could also tie the ends of the strings all together on the outside of the guitar and that way none would get lost by falling through the hole.

I tie them around the shaft of the pots just under the knurled part where there's usually a small indent.

I pretty much only do jobs I enjoy doing. I hate working on the electronics of those 335 style guitars and usually I'll pass if a customer wants me to do the job. Just to time consuming to make an easy buck on!

I use surgical tubing around the pots shaft, and a special quot;bendy thingquot; for the output jack
Start with the jack and work your way forward, or do all 5 at once
