Nope, I am not talking about some cleverly named band..... I am talking aobut the Devil's Plant..... This past weekend I did some manual labor for my in-laws (an entire thread in itself...). Basically, I cleared some land they had adjacent to their house... I have never really been affected by Posion Ivy before, but I have had some weird things going on with my body after serving 8 years in the Army.... I now have sinus allergies like no one's business, and apparently I am now sensitive to PI....

At any rate, the place I got it couldn't be more inconvenient (unless my wife was back from her one year tour in Korea, ).... Well, I have it in the NEXT worst place to get it.... Inside my right forearm!!! Now when I jam, my wounds get rubbed around real raw and that has started spreading.... It is almost enough to make me put it down until this goes away, but they won't break me!!! You can't make me! (It does, however, tend to suck the motivation out.... My improv has really been affected.... The only thing I have managed to make my guitar say is quot; While my Ivy gently weepsquot; or quot;I;ve got the Poison Ivy bluesquot; I have certainly learned to make EVERY note count through the less is more approach.... It sends pins down my spine when I try to speed things up!

Anway, I was wondering if anyone has had to endure this crap just so they can enjoy life's true gift of jamming?!?!

Later,
Allen

Go out and buy the largest band-aids you can. put them on the rash. Play. When I have Poison Ivy, I scratch subconciously while I sleep, so I have to do this. It works. It should stop spreading in 3-4 days.

I sliced the tip of my fourth finger (on my left hand of course) finger the morring before a was going to play a gig. Oh I also had had my wisdom teeth taken out four days earlier. Any way I put a band aid on it while I was warming up bet it kept getting cought on strings next to the one I wanted to play. So when it come time to play my set (thank goodness it was only like a 10 or fifteen minute set) I played without the band aid. It was probably one of the best sets I've ever played but it killed I was in so much pain by the end.

Hope your PI goes away soon.
