....Feels like I took a big beautiful weekend, and blew it shopping for pickups! This decision was almost as hard as shopping for a digital camera!

And the winner: Gibson Tony Iommi Signatures for my Epi LP. If they are going to sound darker than in an SG, so be it. They don't take a battery, look cool, dont have some name-brand advertising on the front. Information overload is a problem for pickups, and a lot of the nuances that people try to describe between pickups are negated by amp (of course), and simple things like changing strumming position 1/2quot;....the list goes on.

The pickups cost more than most, but this was not really an issue. I would have gone for Bill Lawrences.

I got the chrome cover ones for less than $99 each...funny thing is, 30 minutes later, the linky only shows the more expensive black-chrome option. Maybe I got the last two?!

Just got an email from music123, and I indeed got the last one, but I ordered two

Perhaps, I will go for the SD Alnico Pro II in the neck (chromed cover). It will be interesting to try that combo as well. SLASH and IOMMI in one guitar can't sound all that bad!

I will keep the board informed of sonic results, and not turn this into a violin lesson! Thanks for all your help from the quot;Searchquot; button.
