After D!ck and I went to the Hamer seminar at our local Hamer dealer I've been really wanting to play some, especially the Monaco III which Jol played. He said he designed this guitar for himself. My buddy Tommy and I went to the dealership on my B-day to get out of the house where Jamie could do her Taebo.
I played the Junior, Artist, and Monaco III.
The Junior had a supringly low actions. Very spanky sounding yet thick. I really dug it and wish I had had my own amp to try it with.
The Artist played very nice. The problem (for me) was it sounded very plinky, especially dirty. As much as I wanted to really get into it I couldn't.
The first and last guitar I played was the natural Monaco III.
from : localhost/has 3 SD vintage P90's and a 5 way rotary switch (with a chicken head knob ) that operates like a strat's 5 way blade switch. It is a phenomenal guitar! My buddy had 2 comments on it. quot;That's the best sounding stock guitar I've ever heardquot; and quot;You know how you hear a guitar on TV and then you go out and play it but it never sounds like it did on TV? This one sounds like it does on TV!quot;
This guitar has stratty cluck, and chime. But since the pups are P90s they are a bit fatter sounding. It also has a a 25.5quot; scale to give you the feel. By looking at the guitar you wouldn't think the cutaway would be deep enough but strangely enough it is and you have just enough room.
Thought you guys might be interested. Strat guys, check this guitar out ASAP!

Like Luke said, I was there when Jol Dantzig came by. This guitar has the most useful 5-way switch I've ever heard. All five positions have VERY distinct sounds. So distinct that your wife (or parents if you're young) won't be questioning why your guitar needs three pickups.
And it sounded really good with Jol playing it.
2nd page already!!

(from the first post)Are you sure the one Jol played had vintage P90's in it. Those are not stock on this guitar. Hamer uses P90 hot amp; custom in the Monaco III.
