I'm going to be changing out my stock pups in my LP Classic.
I like to play hard rock, classic rock ( mostly )
I was considering the Vintage '59 for the neck and a Seth Lover for the bridge.
Would this be a good choice?
What do you suggest and why?
I have a set of Seths in a LP and let me tell ya.....they are perfect for classic rock. Seth bridge will let ya play anything from Mick Taylor blues to AC/DC. I don't have any experience with the 59 though, but I have heard good things about it.
I think they both would be suitable. I have a set of antiquity in mine and they are great, by the way.

i bet that combo would kick a$$ for hard rock / classic rock ... and with the 21 day return policy, if either one is 'not quite right', you can swap it for a better fit ...
as for a recommendation, if you think that pair doesnt quite work, you could try an AIIP neck and PG bridge ... both A2 magnets ... nice warmth with just a bit of extra harmonic richness from the PG ...
good luck

I have same pickups, different position ~ SLn and 59b in a Heritage H-157. The SLn is smooth and creamy, the 59b cuts through the mix more and gives more highs and lows and has that wonder classic sound. I love them both and like the position they are in. I have heard some folks say the 59n can be too bassy. Each pup gives a unique sound which I also like.
I have replaced the ceramics in my 2000 Classic with '59 neck and bridge. I think they will work well for Rock and Classic Rock. I like them far better than the ceramics ( in my own case). I needed a pickup that would be more versatile and that I got with the '59s. Duncan has others that work just as well such as Alinco Pro II and the C5 and also the Seths and Antiquities. I like the e.q. on the '59s though. Yes, the neck can get bassy sounding if you are not careful with your amp's tone controls, and you need to pay attention to the pickup height, especially with the neck pickup ...'59n. Once I had it dialed in to my satisfaction, I was really pleased with these '59s. There is plenty of bass, mids, and highs to go 'round.
I adjusted them for height by starting with the bridge '59 and adjusted it for what I though would be the best tone I could get from it....then I put the pickup selector in the middle position and adjusted the neck pup height until I got the best middle tone I could get; last, I fined tuned the neck height andusing the guitar's controls got a good neck tone. Try this method if you are having some difficulty dialing in any set of pickups.

Thankyou all for you moocho info!
You guys have sold me.
I'll give these two a try.
I think it should sound pretty decent.
I'll be getting them in Zebra color.
I think they will suit my Honey Burst color.
I'll also be changing the hardware to gold ( as I dig gold )
and will be installing new gold gibby klusons this weekend.
Maybe I'm not true to the traditional look, but I think the end product will look Sweet.
btw... I don't have any desire ( now ) in ever trading it in.
I know altering the original concept of a Les Paul depreciates value.
if you want to sell the gibson 500T pup let me know?
Three things:
1. It's an LP classic - it won't really ever be an quot;investment instrumentquot;
2. Klusons suck - get Goth/Grover/or anything else!
3. Rock on and have at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got a LP Classic Honey Sunburst and the set of Alnico II Pros (both neck and bridge) were a welcomed changed to my guitar.
