Does anybody have the EVH in their bridge? Since there are no sound bytes i'm curious as to what it sounds like. I am thinking of grabbing this pickup any suggestions for a Neck pickup to mate with the EVH? I currently have a 59'er that i'm thinking of placing in the neck.

What guitar are you going to put them in? For the past couple days, I've been using an EVH/PG in a Les Paul, just to see if I like it. I borrowed the EVH another forum member, MRID. To me, it sounds like a Custom Custom with less output, but the same kind of sustain. I can see why it would be considered a VH pickup, since it's medium output, a smooth top, and it's very easy to play hammered licks because of the smooth sustain. I'd say it sounds like a cross between a 59B and CC.

I have a EVH neck in my Driskill. AFA production pickups go, I'd suggest the PG.

I had a custom made EVH strat sized bride humbucker by mj and I did not care for it. Was a little too bright for my liking. I since replaced it with the custom custom and it nails EVH. The best humbucker for a strat is custom custom hands down..

I have several strats with 59s in the bridge, and one with a Custom. Either one of these will get you there easily. Try one of these first, then if you don't like them, try the more expensive EVH.

I have a EVH and it really reminds me of the custom custom with a bit less output. It is very similar sounding to a custom custom in my opinion.

I will be placing it in the bridge of my les paul. I play in a modern rock band, but really like a good solid rock sound. Not real into Metal. So i've used a jb, jazz setup and in my new les paul i have a 59b and was thinking of switching it with the evh. I don't like distortion pickups very much, i let my amp do the work. So i tend to go vintage.

D-Rawk where in Kentucky are you located. I live near Maysville.

Northern Kentucky, Florence area

I have an EVH in my warmoth strat stlye- mahogany body- maple top. I think its the best sounding Hum out there, though I do like the PG also. With the EVH you can hear veery note when you play chords. I love Eddie's tone (who doesn't?), but I go for a different tone, more like Billy Gibbons on steroids, and the EVH kicks butt! The JB wasn't bad, but I like the EVH better.
