Well ladies and germs, the Tele is finally in! (Blasphemous of me, I am left without pics, but come New Years Eve I shall have pics for all!) If this couldn't be the best Christmas gift ever, then NOTHING can. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect, it surpasses perfection and greatness.

Alright, so enough kissing my guitar's ass.. Let's get down to the details.

As you may know by now, it's a Northern Hard Ash body, maple/ebony neck/fingerboard, dark transparent red finish. Beautiful. Floyd Rose, Sustainer, EMG Afterburner, and a Duncan Invader (of course!).

Anyways, let's get the lowdown. The volume pot was the first thing that caught my attention. When it's at full, it sounds full. At 8, it sounds 8. At 3, it sounds 3, and at 0, it sounds ****ING 0. It's great, because the Epiphone pots I'm used to are either 10, or 0.

The next feature, is the Afterburner. Quite a useful device, but whatever you do, don't have it on full. It's a push/pull deal, when it's pulled out, the gain boost is activated, and you can go from 0db boost (absolutely no boost, same as off) to 20db boost (though I don't recommend going full-on). When it's off, it's just another knob, almost like a dummy knob for aesthetics.

Next is the Floyd. I've never owned a guitar with a Floyd, but I'mma tell you right now, I'll probably need to practice using a Floyd just to get decent sounds out of it, because I just sound like a wanker. Ah well, practice makes perfect.

The last feature (but most certainly not the least), is the Fernandes Sustainer. If you've ever thought about purchasing either the unit itself, or installed in a Fernandes guitar from the factory, they're absolutely amazing. The two features, Fundamental and Harmonic, are interesting. Fundamental takes the natural note, and adds a faint harmonic overtone to it (I think a 7th?), while adding some bass frequencies. Me playing lots of drone (think Earth, SunnO))), Boris), this is perfect, because it creates some bowel-movingly intense subsonics. The second feature, the Harmonic, is exactly what it is, a harmonic. It takes the note you're playing, adds the normal harmonic overtone to it, and just screams. I'm right now digging both, but if you can't decide between one or the other, there's one last feature to save your ass.

The Mix mode is exactly how it sounds. It takes both modes, mixes them, and creates an intense array of overtones, and if loud enough, it can destroy most small animals and children.

Now, the coolest part about the sustainer? It vibrates the whole guitar, for.. um.. sexual stimulation, shall we say

The Invader sounds perfect, it's a tad brighter than in my V (a good thing, too), but it's fuller, thicker, and it just has much better tone.

Anyways, that's it for my review thus far. After the honeymoon is over, I'll review it more intensely, actually providing pics too, so.. expect more!

maybe i missed this...

Warmoth.

sounds like a pretty high end tele you got there

Sustainers rule. One of the coolest guitars I have ever used was a PRS ten top with duncans and a sustainer circuit. Floyds are fun, sounds like you have a really entrtaining guitar. Have fun and post pics for all the rest of us to drool over.
