Hi all.
I'm think I'm going to wire the humbuckers on my guitar for the spin-a-split setup found on the tech page ( from : localhost//website...techtips.shtml) very soon but I got a quick question. It might sound foolish but I have no previous experience with wiring so I don't know a lot yet.
My question is: When the tone knob is at 10 (which means that both coils are at 100% output, right?) will it be the complete same as if the humbucker were just wired like standard series wiring or will it be like parallel wiring?
Thanks in advance...
Its almost the same as a humbucker in normal series wiring, except that you'll have the resistance of the tone pot going between the red/white combo and ground. The affect should be minimul, but it could have a tiny bit of impact.
What would be better in this mod? A 250K or a 500K pot?
I went ahead with the 500k... WOuldnt know that to compare it to, but in the #5 position, I can sit near the monitor and get no interference on 10, and lots interference on 1... In position #4 it is the exact opposite, so that is dead on!!!
This is an extremely useful mod!!! I LOVE it!!!
The higher the pot value the better.
