Ok Guys as i write this my cheap 100 dollar ten watt ss amp is picking up radio signals! IM not i was messing around with the delay pedal and when is toped playihng it i noticed a radio sound so i tunred my volume on ym strat to zero and turned up the volume on my amp and i heard a song being played of the radio.....i dont get it....is it my guitar whats picking up the singals?
Even though your instrument cable is shielded- it's effectively a 20' long antenna in front of an amplifier. Is there a radio station nearby?

One Night I had a Spainish radio station coming thru my amp. But only with
my Wah on ? As soon as I kicked the Wah off it went away. So Instead
of rehearsing my bandmate's had to stand there marveling at this phenomium.
ahaha sorry i was typing with one hand and holding my guitar in the other. Not to mention im a bad typer to start with. But ya it was a radio signal. And no there are no radio station near my home. I live in the city, the radio stations are downtown, which a good 30-60 minutes away by bus or car. Hmm i have no idea, maybe my neighbors werte broadcasdting some illegal radio show haha.
Some amps seem to do this.. My Peavey Classic 50 does it! I contacted Peavey about it and they said it could be an open ground inside the amp... I spoke to a tech and he said it was nothing to worry about...
The easy way to stop amps from picking up radio stations is to use a Computer style Power Bar with RF Filters built in. My Classic 50 is quiet as a mouse now as long as i use a power bar with the Rf filter....
Who Fan
i picked up one of those little Ibanez Bass amps (10 or 20 watts) for bass noodling. It was such a radio receiver!! No guitar cable needed even. It would sit there and play the radio, loudly! I took it back the next day, and of course, could not replicate the results in the bass amp area (in a big unused walk-in-chiller) I had to haggle and moan, but they never fully believed me. Lots of quot;hmmmmm, reallyquot;. Eventually they gave me a Carlsbro...
Also, aside, we have unbelievable amounts of domestic security electric fencing here in South Africa. When you stop playing, you can hear the quot;tick, tick, tickquot; of it! Ah, the price one pays to not be slaughtered while sleeping...
I had an old Marshall JMP MV that picked up a little radio too. Luckily you could barely hear it and it was more funny than anything else.

Guitar in the other hand. Riiiiiiight.I used to pick up the CB (remember those?) conversations through my MusicMan back in the days when everyone was illegally boosting the wattage of the signal output.
Ooh, I may be showing my age...
