I play mostly blues, rock, and metal...
Give it a go
and better yet, if you have something you think I might like to try out pm me!
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, NO JBs and NO 59s
other than that, I'm open to suggestions.
I've played an ESP George Lynch Bengal with a maple body and Neck, with the Screamin' Demon. Totally made for eachother.
Jake_xms3_punk has one for sale...
cc to thicken things up. if not limited to duncans, dimarzio air zone and rio grande bbq.
PATB-1 or PATB-3 might be good too.
I have a Pearly Gates bridge model (8.5k) in the neck slot of my all maple Carvin DC-127T paired with a Custom Custom.
This is a great set for a bright snappy guitar. I play blues, rock, pseudo-country, and funk and this set can cover all those styles and do it with aplomb.
I highly recommend it.
I liked the Custom 5 in my all mahogany guitar (hamer) although it is a tad dark. Might be the right choice for a maple guitar. My guessing is that the CC would not have enough cut for harder styles in a band context - it pushes everything thru the mids. My fav now is the Custom (ceramic magnet) which ballsy and thick in a alder strat with all maple neck, this cuts through the mix but is clearly a PAF type .

Also, the highs of the C5 seemed bright to the point of being brittle. It wasn't a very musical sound at all in my experience.
