Alright, I've decided to slowly peice together what I feel will be the ultimate in versatile tele tone! I'm going to take my stock mexican tele and start upgrading...gonna put on an american bridge and a lil 59 in the bridge...
then I'm going to add a strat middle pickup (for which Iquot;ll have to get a new pickguard and do some routing)..then I want to wire it up for 11 possible different tone combinations:
neck, neck-middle, middle, middle-bridge, bridge, neck-bridge, neck-middle-bridge, neck-bridge (tapped), middle-bridge (tapped), bridge (tapped), neck-middle-bridge (tapped)
was thinking of using either push pull pots (on volume for tap and tone for bridge off/on) or maybe a push/pull blender knob (blend in bridge pickup and push pull for coil tap) with a concentric pot for volume/tone.......
is that possible? or am I going to have to just use a push pull volume and a push pull tone (one for coil tap, one for bridge on/off) to pull this off...any wiring help would be highly appreciated!
uhh, why not get a nashville tele, dude?
better bridge, neck, frets, electronics, tuners
you;d save yourself a lot of hassle
the nashville power teles also have the s-1 switching, so that'd be your best bet
Because I ALREADY have the MIM, and I can't justify owning another guitar...I've got 4 electrics as it is...and I enjoy the project
And these electronics are fine, I switched them out for quality parts a while back....besides, I'd have to replace the pickups in the Nashville tele to (I actually did have one for a little while) it's just more fun when it's a project
