I've got $1,000 to spend. I was looking at the Orange Rocker 30, but don't know if I want to give up reverb and the effects loop. I want solid cleans and mid to high gain...but mid gain will work fine.

So, suggestions?

Possibly a Peavey Classic 30? I don't know if it has the kind of clean tone that you want, (a differant speaker can take care of that) but they can be had new for around $450.00. Has reverb and FX loop also. I've had mine for 2 trouble free years. They're pedal friendly too in case you don't care for the amps OD channel. Great little amp.

Laney LC30?
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is 40 watts but it could work too I guess...
Otherwise yeah the Peavey is a classic
Maybe as well a Mesa F30, though I don't know its price.

there are several Riveras around those watts that fit that description and could be had for the $$$ used!

Marshall DSL401? Seems to be the standard marshall combo, altho sum people here have mentioned reliability issues...

I'm going to check out the Mesa Boogie F-30 after work. Anyone have any experience with the Rivera Chubster 40 watter?

yea, not a bad amp, but for $1000 you can buy stuff that eats it for breakfast

ashdown do some nice stuff , but its still lt;$600 or so.. this isnt really my price range

If you don't mind used:

Rivera Chubster
Mesa/Boogie Maverick
Vox AC30
Fender Deluxe reverb RI
Fender Super Reverb

Not all of these amps are 30 watts, not all of them have reverb or FX loops, but they all sound great.

I'm looking at the Rivera Chubster 40 and Mesa Boogie F30. Any other input, or should I just take a pic of the new gear in a couple of days.
