I especially like the black tele shown in the new Guitar World mag that has an ignition switch (like one found in your car), in place of the tone control. Cool.
I believe the Rev has an extensive collection of Esquires - both original and custom made.
That shot is from Billy's book...there are lots more Tele's and Esquires in the book. New, old, stock , modded, Fender, Custom, you name it...he digs Tele's! There are also a few Strats, a Jag, several hollowbodies, some Nationals as well as quite a few Gretsch's...Nice stuff...and LOTS of it!
dam.. now I gotta get the book-- its only $26.00

That's one of the things that I love about Billy Gibbons. He'll play anything and everything. Everyone associates him with Pearly Gates, but he has recorded with just about every type.
I was looking at that book the other day.... i must have a copy... and yes i did notice a lot of teles!!!!

Christian, does that book show ALL of Billy's gear collection, or just bits of it?
I've always wanted to see every last piece of gear Billy owns. What a charmed life that bastid has lived! And he has impeccable taste too!!

A very little bit...It is mentioned in either that book or a recent interview I was reading that Billy ownes well over 500 guitars!
The book as Pearly and some more well known as well as a few of his fav custom built guitars as well as a few oddball pieces.

I'll bet he has storage units at one of his homes, or a commercial storage unit that has piles of gear. For someone like him to photograph it all, he'd need to hire some guys to spend a whole weekend putting it all in one place.....I'm sure it's too much trouble. I bought the newest Joe Perry CD/DVD, and the DVD shows a fraction of what he owns, and it's like roomfulls of guitars!
Here's another guy with great taste, Dave Amato from REO Speedwagon!I have the Joe Perry CD as well...in Billy's book there are a few small shots of wearhouses full of gear...and lots of it.
Billy says that he still owns his very first rig...a Gibson Melody Maker and a Tweed Champ!

Billy is rumored to own the only original Moderne. Dan Erlewine said he had possession of it for a short while, but sold it. There was a picture of Billy in a convertible with the back seat crammed full of guitars- there is a bit of guitar which looks kind of like what the Moderne is thought to look like.
