First off...the pic...

...and a few things to note...

Although I knew this was only 20 fret and really only quot;managablequot; to the 18th fret, that part really came as no surprise. I had purchased this guitar with the full intentions of leaving it on a quot;Graciequot; stand, thus having my trusty 6 ready for quot;battlequot; behind it. There were a few issues, exclusive to these...

Straps are very hard to come by, I finally found one that didn't slice into my shoulder and was quot;shortquot; enough!..(although I could handle the weight for a few tunes, definitely not an quot;all-nightquot; guitar....the whole stand idea seems to be the best route!).......(oh, and the guys at GC acted like they've never even seen one of these before.......of course, I was proud to show it off! !)

Strings are a liitle hard to come by....for the 12

The stock PU's are quot;managablequot; and I've decided to replace both bridge PU's with my favorite...(SH6's...mostly because they have killer coil tapped response!) and leave the neck PU's alone...for now anyway!

The only real drawback to this guitar is the switching system, the sw. between the necks is the PU selector, while the one at the bottom is the neck selector, and while it works flawlessly....there is room for improvement here....(easy enough for me to remedy!)

The single coolest thing about this guitar is quot;symapthetic resonationquot; which allows the vibrations from the strings on one neck to quot;transferquot; to the other neck. This creates this the most killer guitar/organ tones! (reminiscent of Zep's sound!) However it is rather limited to only the first through fourth order harmonics of the tuning used... I used standard tuning with a drop D low string, thus the major scale of D resonates almost instantaneously, moreso in the higher registers. This does rquire some quot;finessequot; as the lower notes will tend to overpower the higher ones, it took probably less than an hour to quot;get the hangquot; of it!......while this is not overly quot;usefulquot;, it is way cool!

And one last thing, there is nothing in the world like a Drop D'd 12 string through a modded Marshall....serious vibes!

That's one sweet Slab of Mahogany. Got any sound clips of the
droped D 12?

I'm working on it!....

man, that is sweet and it must have cost a pretty penny. that much wood must sustain for days though. my dad wanted to get the epiphone version, he just didnt feel comfortable playing it. i guess its a love/hate thing. i think its ultra cool, i just cant play it haha.

That's a nice shade of cherry. I've never owned a double-neck, so I didn't even think about the undertones and harmonics from the other neck. I always thought people used a string-damper on the neck they weren't playing.

I was having the intention of owning a Gibson doubleneck. I just saw one Alphine white with silver pickguard which I fell in love almost immediately. Think at the rate Gibson is going, I may change my mind. No doubt that its one fantastic guitar to own. But I will prolly use that only on knockin' on heaven's door =P

those look sweet... but they look like they would weigh a ton

i love playing them. ive played more than a few of them and some epi clones and an Ibanez clone as well. they have a lot of body mass so they tend to sound very solid. The only thing I dont like is the necks weigh as much as the body so the necks make the strap slip down to the point where the necks hang even with the body and ime used to haveing my guitar neck pointing more up, but with this guitar the necks weigh it down to where it is dead even with the body.
Still they are so much fun to play. I need to get another double neck guitar soon

Ooh, it makes me wonder.

Those guitars always looked so cool to me. I've played double neck acoustics and was amazed at the mass, so I can only imagine how bad it is with two solid electrics together.

I gotta hear this drop d 12 thing Jeff
