well it says it's modeling the ts808, but it seems to have WAY too much gain for a ts. I'm running it with the amp models amp; everything else except a noise gate turned off. So what's the deal, is it legit, or?
I'm considering buying an actual ts if it's not, ts9, 808, or maxon od808, what's the difference between all these?
It'd be a waste of money to buy an XT Live for the sole purpose of using just one stompbox sound...
I'm sure you can get a regular TS modded to the specs you want for much cheaper than a Pod XT Live
that's just the flavor of the week, dude. I'm pretty sure i've ran every possible combination on that thing at one point in time
Run the XT live thorugh a scooped 5150 bro!!!! ROTF!!!!!!
Gotta give ya a hrad time mang!!! LOL!!!
i know, i know, get it out while it's still funny
but for the record the 5150 is the only amp i scoop the mids on, on my bassman i keep them between 6 amp; 7 (that's with a TS running) and on my friends plexi i dime them
You can't even make this comparison. hey the XT L has a nice setting called Super Tubes and a half decent version of the TS. Buy a real TS, a MAXON, OR MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION - get the KEELEY TS9 and you will never look back. Sounds good thru almost any amp, great gain, more versatile, and in a live room you will move people.
Honestly; the PODxt modeled TS is pretty good. I liked it the same as my stock TS9, but not as much as my Maxon OD808. I find the Maxon OD808's, OD9's, and OD820's have a much sweeter midrange than the Ibanez versions... but if you get a TS9 and mod it to 808 specs, the differences is going to be negligible, at best.
yeah i think i'm gonna go pick up a maxon od9 before too long, live the POD version just has too much gain amp; lacks some warmth, but at bedroom levels it's pretty rockin
