Well, all hails to former forum member quot;BillVquot;, who once posted a couple of clips of his THD Univalve\ToneBone Classic setup.

I've NEVER heard such a great tone before, so sweet, singing, organic, natural, thick, smooth, yet aggressive. It's just what i've been looking for quot;all my lifequot;, if you understand what i mean .

I'll post the clips here again, to honor BillV and his great tone, and also to show you what's my dream tone, and ask you what you think. I'd also like tips on how it would be possible for me to obtain such tonal bliss .

Holy crap! That is killer tone and just damn good guitar playing. Good stuff. I've only heard of the Tone Bone, but so far, only good things...this just fuels the fire.

The things i can hear in BillV's tone, is saturated valves, high volume, and speaker breakup. Along with alot of valves, and careful technicue. Agree?

I like the first and the last clips the most. The cleans are bright and twangy like a telecaster, the lead tones aren't thin and have a touch of a P90 flavour to them.

The lead sounded really compressed and saggy to me. Sounded like a rectifier tube working hard. You can hear the initial attack being limited, and then you hear it swell back in after. It's nice, but I would only like it for a singing lead tone and that's it.

nice clean tone on the first link, i found the lead sounding too much like a wah-wah pushed all the way down to the bass freq on some parts, nice playin overall though

dude have you played a nice tube amp before?? theres nothing special about that tone ? im not saying that it sounds bad , just nothing special!!

Hehe ... yeah, i've played alot of valve amps, but i've never got such a... valvey tone!

Just take a close quot;lookquot; on the tone.... it just has that sag, that warmth, those dynamics...
