I'm going to get an EQ pedal to even out my different overdrives, just can't decide which one. So far, the only two brands that I've come across that are making EQ pedals I would consider are MXR and Boss. I want a graphic equalizer (more bands the better). There must be more EQ pedals out there for the more professionally minded, (I'm not that good, it's just I'd rather pay more for something that will be of a higher quality and last longer). Any tips please.
Thanks,
Ben

I checked out the Boss and the MXR both in the effect lopp of an engel amp. Since I could get a better from the MXR (probably due to it's 10bands) I got the MXR.

I'm sure there's some good rackmount stuff out there if you wanna go that way. Otherwise, the MXR is fine.

I run the MXR KFK 10 band EQ and it is great. Really thickened up my tone. I wouldn't go without it again.

*shameless plug*

I have a Ge-7 for sale $55 shipped. Check the trading post!

(I've never seen a broken Boss pedal, the things are tanks)

That said, you can get a huge improvement on a stock Boss by ordering the modded one;

from : localhost/tone-jam.com/GE7_mod_page.html

I've never tried the Boss EQ-20, so I don't know what it's like. If you want more professional, you'll have to look rack.

I've got a Boss EQ-20 amp; it works really well....stores 9 different settings for a little different flavor. The downside is to switch settings, the button is so small, you have to either be barefoot amp; have flexible toes or use your finger...would've been nicer if you could control it with stepping on the pedal.

I got mine cheap when MARS went out of business....not sure if I would've paid the full price for it, but glad I got it!

For $55.00 shipped, I go for B2D's amp; if you didn't like it, you can probably get your money back by selling it.....

I just using and stocking the MXR 10 Band EQ. Its excellent. I love the fact that with 10 bands, you have ALOT of control over your tone.

BOSS GE-7 does the job though it automatically adds a bit of hiss to the signal when engaged. For gigging etc it doesnt bother me. Apparently the mod on the tone-jam site eliminates the hiss but i havent tried it myself

Thanks for all your help everyone. My biggest problem with my overdrives is that one is incredibly bassy with very little top end (Toadworks Death Rattle) while the other is the opposite (Homebrew Power Screamer). For this reason I think I'm going to spend the extra cash on a Boss EQ-20. Then just flip between the stored and manual sttings for the different overdrives. What do any owners of the pedal make of this? Thanks for all your advice so far.
Ben

I'd go with the MXR ten band. It's probably the best one on the market right now. I used to have the boss, but it just doesn't give the amount of control the MXR has.

Mine's olive drab with a green LED.....kinda reminded me of all the NVG colours you see in video games.
