Hey, I've always wondered what effect was being used by The Boss on the solo in quot;Tunnel of Lovequot;. Some kind of modulation? Try to be specific if you can(type and brand) Thanks Bros!
PS how do you guys like my new avatar?
Thats a fine lookin Tele, ain't it!
Actually, Nils Lofgren played that solo. Check out the last page of the May '05 Guitar One. He talks about it and there's a brief transcription, but it doesn't specify the effect...he just says that Bruce said quot;Let's put a flange on it, or a chorus.quot; It's pretty wet, I'd guess more of a chorus sound, but it could be a few effects simultaneously. Great solo.
That solo always reminds me of a Boston song, maybe quot;Don't Look Back.quot; Great solo.
on a similar topic, anyone know what that quot;chimeyquot; bell like sound is on Hungry Heart?
glockenspiel

quot; The glockenspiel (German, quot;play of bellsquot;, also known as orchestra bells and, in its portable form, lyra) is a musical instrument in the percussion family. It is similar to the xylophone, in that it has tuned bars laid out in a fashion resembling a piano keyboard. The xylophone's bars are wooden, while the glockenspiel's are metal.quot;yup ... that's the instrument ... i think one is used on 'born to run' too ...
i have a guitar synth patch i use that blends a glockenspiel tone with a fast 'attack' and quick decay with a flute tone that has a slower attack and longer sustain ... so when i play and hold a note, the 'ping' gives way to the 'oooooooh' ....
