Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You
Does anyone have a good setup to play this song close to the studio version?
I can get close, but I'm interested in everyones opinion.

What are you using?

Without going back and listening to it again, I can't think of there being any effects on that song. My main thought is Les Paul, middle position - i.e. both pickups on. Moderate tube amp distortion.

From memory, I don't recall hearing any effects on that song. I think its straight up Les Paul into a Marshall. Jimmy's playing has an effect tho, I think its called: UNBELIEVEABLE

I put a coil tap on the stock neck pickup in my 1986 Les Paul Custom and nailed the tone

EXACTLY!!! Coil-tap the neck pickup for most of the song... I use the bridge humbucker for the solo when he really digs in. Jimmy used that coil tap a ton!!! Once I got my LP modded and played it... that tone sounded so familiar and I finally started to realize just how much he used it. Listen to Over The Hills... that intro is all coil-tap. It's an unbelievable contrast and he was the best at using it.
