Hello
My first post so please be gentle with me
About a year ago I purchased a set of PG in double Cream of a guy on another Forum as part of a fund rasier thing. And about a month ago I installed them in my LP Standard.
All I can say is that I am hooked on them, I never knew they could make a guitar sing like they have. So My question is how do I get another set? I have seen them online at MF Mus123 etc but never seen double cream.
I want to put a set in my R7. As I find BB's a little brittle sounding now?
Thanks in advance.
HW man.
i dont think duncan makes double cream anymore due to dimarzio quot;patentingquot; it
First of all, welcome.
You should be able to custom order them, maybe as a quot;shop floor customquot; that comes with a cover on it or something. You can definitely get them, just not via mass retail channels.
Oh yeah, PGs are KILLER! I have them in my Schecter and will never replace them.
Hi and welcolme,
Some retailer will be able to get that for you...I've heard about people getting them double-cream with unsoldered covers... check with either Lew from this forum or John at blackrosecustom...
Both are A1 gentlemen and will be able to get them for you.
ask LEW he will get you one
Whats with the dimarzio quot;patentingquot;
How do patent a colour ?thanks for your help guys.
Its not a patent, its a trademark. As a civil service worker myself, I can vouch for the fact that not all of us have a brain, including some of those that work at the quot;trademarkquot; office. Or whatever its called.
As for the color, you can order them in cream but you'll have to pay for a removable nickel cover. Dimarzio won't let Duncan (or anyone else) sell a paf style humbucker in double cream unless the double cream is initially hidden under a nickel cover. So you just remove the cover...easily done.
BTW, I like double cream too. Especially on a Les Paul.
