Seeing as i only own two pedals right now im using one of those planet wave connectors, its basically just the jack connector with no cables at all. Are these any good? I assumed it was because it was shorter and the signal has less to travel? When i get more pedals i plan on hooking them up the same way. How do you guys connect your stuff together? Are there any better ways than what im doing, seeing as those connectors are 10 bucks a peice!
Those are fine and you are right...the fact thet there is no cord is a good thing. As for the price issue, I use George L's cords on everything...2 george L's ends and a foot or so of cable like 9 dollars so 10 dollars is not much different...I say don't use cheep cables!

Don't use cheap cables, but there's no need for expensive cables either.
I just have some 1' cables I made from broken cables and Switchcraft and Neutrik ends.
Mars Music, Dimarzio, and some other quot;guitarquot; brand patch cables. They sound fine to me and I'm not changing!
Musicians friend sells some connectors for fairly cheap. I got a whole bunch of Fender 6quot; electrovolt pedal cables for like $2 each when on sale... George L's for any odd lenghts when needed...
I use GeorgeL. They make a kit with 10 ends and 10 feet of cable and I am happy with it.
I once had a solid connector that I bought at the local music store - similar to what you describe. It wasn't Planet Wave - I can't remember the brand right now. One time when I was packing my gear up it came apart. I was kind of surprised how cheap it was made.
I'm sure Planet Wave is better - I use Planet Wave from my guitar (I don't like the stiffness of GeorgeL cables on the guitar).
I have a variety of patch cables, none of which sound better than the other. I also have one of those dual-male connectors only mine is all chrome, it's not a Planet Waves one. I think mine is an older dunlop. Most of my cables are 10 years old or older.
GeorgeL's on the board, and Bayou cables otherwise.
brandless custom cables out of the shop.
They work just as fine
Kordex.
It's amazing to me - the people here that obsess over the tone of their guitar and amps - and yet can't hear the tonal differences between quality cables and junk... oh well - maybe it's just me
I know what they say, but that doesn't change the fact that I play with Monster Cables connecting everything.
I use the short dimarzio patch cable on my pedals.
I don't know about the planet waves patch cable, but the 20 foot guitar cable is very noisey and microphonic- just hook it up to your amp only, shake it around, without grounding it out and see how much noise it makes- my cheap GC cable doesn't make nearly that much noise- as a matter of fact- I have retired my Planet Waves cable to the recycle bin!

What type of cable do you use for your pedals?
