For a basswood body with a vintage trem and a maple neck/fretboard. I'm looking for enough output to do metal but I want it to clean decently (I'm using the blackpanel model on the POD so perfect cleans aren't needed) and to remain clarity. Tight bass is a plus, otherwise I'm looking for a good amount of mids. Whether it's bright or warm doesn't matter much to me really. You may also suggest other brand of pickups. It HAS to be a humbucker though, but in Single Coil size.
Thanks!
It almost sounds like you're describing a Cool Rails exactly . . . but then again, I've been infatuated with them lately.
You should hold out for more opinions.
To be honest I was feeling quite attracted to the lil' Screaming Deamon but I heard it's not great in basswood? Its description interests me a lot. I also fear the CoolRails may not have enough output compared to what I need? It'd mostly be to play metal.
How about the DiMarzios ToneZone Strat or Chopper/Cruiser/Fast Track?
Guys please...?
I don't know about the little screamin' demon.. I just know i'm not a fan of the full sized one.
as for your strat, my reccomendation is a JB Jr. I think it would sound wonderful in a basswood strat.

I love my lil screamon demon.I dont have any idea about basswood though.I does what you're asking for ,for me.
I had a Dimarzio Fast Track 1 in the bridge of my MIJ Basswood strat. I really loved the tone and it had enough output to keep up with the Custom, CC, and JB I had in various other guitars at that time.
So the JB would give me the tight bass I'm looking for in basswood? The output and tone chart seem ok, but there's not much mids in there
Keep on suggesting I guess... The hotrails will be no good you guys think? Also in league are the DiMarzio Fast Track 2 and Tone Zone Strat.
