I was just wonderin, anyone try out the gibson dirty fingers humbucker. Ive heard alot of people mention that its good for punk, but hows it sound for raw metal?

ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No experience w/ the quot;reissuesquot;, which I´ve been told sound like crap....

The Old ones I have are great, think halfway between an Invader and a Distortion....They seem to be really responsive to the FRETTING hand (Hence the name)....very thich and powerful tone, but still bright enough not to beconme total mush......

metal? check out the Gibson Iommi humbuckers. i've tried them, the sound is bassy and thick.

Raw metal? Try this one LOL...
Bare Knuckles 'Warpig'

IIRC the original Dirty Fingers was Gibson's attempt to produce thier own version of a Super Distortion

Exactomondo!

They should've called it the Dirty Sanchez. Then maybe I'd buy one

I've got a couple of vintage Dirty Fingers pickups out of an '85 reissue V. I've always thought that they're kind of anemic sounding. I do use one still, a neck model in an SG of mine and it's a pretty decent sounding neck pickup (at least it works in that guitar), but it's definitely not what I would consider to be a high output pickup and I was never very impressed with them. The reissues that I've listened to don't sound as good as the originals to my ears.

if my future-V doesn't have X2N's in it, i'm gonna probably get Dirty Fingers...
