I feel like I am playing guitar with 7.5 radius neck. Any neck over 10 radius feels likes I am cheating. What would be the psycology behind this?

I should have known it
Also, I think we tend to like to hold that which were already used to. Thats why I like a 12quot; neck.

Are you a shredder Artie?
If XSSIVE see's this thread, and remembers the headstock decal he made me . . . I'm in trouble.
I'll tell ya what...I used to HATE a vintage Fender radius and would never even bother with them but now one of my Strats has a vintage (7.25) and I don't mind it at all...it even has vintage fret wire...I won't lie it's a hard as hell guitar to play but I dig it!
wow, anything rounder than 12quot; and I feel weird.
Syndrome: masochism.
Yeah, I guess that all those Gibsons are shred guitars because of the excessively flat fingerboards.
Make mine a 12. Pity I’m limited to the EJ, SRV and the mex deluxe somethingorother…
I don't like anything smaller then 9.5.
I think brisk likes having an excuse not to do huge bends.
I'm mostly a rythym player so i enjoy a vintage Fender Radius sometimes..... The 9.5 is more practical so i go with modern necks mostly... But the radius of the vintage necks along with a 50's V shape neck, a 1 5/8 nut width and that just screams comfort for my hands. I have some Jacksons with paper thin, 16 radius necks that i enjoy for soloing.... I think different guitars for different reasons...

i'm with you though 12quot; is the best IMO. 9.5quot; is fine, 10quot; is cool, 14quot; is ok 15quot; is ok too.
7.25quot; = firewood!

Watch it son... let's not get homophobic
Anyway, I don't like really small radii. I love that Jackson feel, but right now I'm playing a 12quot; inch radius.. it doesn't feel as great as 16quot; though, to my hands.

I like 14 radius neck
You guys probably know this but the flatter the fingerboard the lower the action can be without the high E string fretting out when you bend a note across the fingerboard. So a 10quot; or 12quot; radius allows you to have low action and be able to bend the high E across the fingerboard whereas the 7.5quot; radius will fret out and choke off the note when you bend the high E across the fingerboard unless you set the action very high.
It's because the fingerboard is shaped like part of a cylinder...but when you bend a note, the string wants to see a cone shape (not a cylinder shape) in order not to fret out. Lew
7 1/2quot;, huh?
And I thought my 70s Strat neck was very curved at 9quot;!
All of my necks now have a 14quot; radius; practically twice as flat! Small radius IS great for comping chords, tho.

Did you have the radius quot;flatenedquot; to 9 on your Strat because it came stock with a 7.25 inch radius.
I played classical through college so the flatter and wider the better.Anyone ever played and electric with absolutely flat fingerboard?
